Chapter 7: Reasons (Erik's POV)

I went back at the hotel and avoided my family. I didn't have the energy to argue with them nor to be teased by Cassian. I locked my hotel room and laid on the bed, thinking about what reasons to give to Ana so she can accept my offer. I got out of bed and took my shirt off, stood in front of the mirror and adjusted the lights. Are my abs a good reason someone to marry me? Absolutely!

I took several pictures from different angles and chose the best one and sent it to her with a caption 'Reason number two'.

I sat on the sofa and waited for her response. My phone lit when it received her message 'Good physique, I hope your abs are not your whole personality 😉'

I giggled to myself and wrote 'I promise they aren't' and she just liked mu message. I sighed, put on my pajamas and crawled under the covers.

I woke up at 6am and rushed to the bathroom to take a shower. I got out quickly and put on black jeans with blue polo shirt. I got my phone and the room card and stormed out of the hotel. The morning was chilly, the sun was risen and shone brightly. I was walking down the street, angry drivers were honking even though they were at a stop light. Maybe they think that if they honk the light will turn green faster. What a nation, I sighed.

I stopped by one bakery and bought two bagels filled with bacon. A few steps further a older lady was selling flowers and I bought a bouquet of orange lilies, then I turned on the maps to see if I was walking in a correct direction. The city was big but the center was pretty easy to learn. Ana's club and café are just 15 minutes away from her house. Good thing that I had perfect orientation is space.

Couple of minutes later I found myself in front of her house. Her car was parked so I guessed she was still at home. I rang the bell but I only heard her cat meowing. I rang again and heard Ana's voice, she was probably cursing in her language. She opened the door with her eyes half open, her hair messy and fizzed and the strap of her pajama slipped on one shoulder.

"What the hell?" she asked with raspy voice.

I pulled the bagels and the flowers from behind my back "Good morning"

She blinked "Good morning, but it's 6:45am Erik! I went to bed at 4am" she paused "Come in" and she took the bagels and the flowers. I walked inside and she stopped me "Shoes" she pointed at my feet. I took of my shoes and we went to the dining room.

"I'm sorry I woke you up. I forgot you stay late at the club"

"It's okay, I will sleep later. Do you want yogurt with the bagel?" she asked going in the kitchen.

"No, thanks"

We ate in silence because she was exhausted. I watched her as she struggled to hold her eyes open and smiled to myself, she was cute when she looked like mess.

"The lilies are beautiful" she smiled

"Yeah, they fit perfectly in your place" I looked around and when I looked back at her she was dozed off. I sighed "Let's put you in bed". I stood up and grabbed her arms helping her stand. We walked to her bedroom and I laid her down. I kissed her forehead and a smile appeared on her face, I tucked her in and left the bedroom. I went back to the dining room and cleared the mess we made with the bagels, then I washed the dishes that she probably left last night. Her cat was meowing and spinning around her empty food bowl. I looked around but I couldn't find any cat food "Where's your food?" I mumbled to myself and the cat walked over one kitchen cabinet. I opened it and found the cat food "Smart girl". I gave her food and then filled her water bowl then I sat on the couch and waited for Ana to wake up.
