Chapter 28: Wedding bells (Ana's POV)

I woke up in my hotel room by the sound of my alarm, it was 7am and the sun has already filled the room with its brightness. We came to the hotel yesterday evening and after dinner me and Erik went into separate rooms far across from each other. We wanted to create some excitement and desire for each other, and we had to avoid seeing one another till I walk down the aisle later today. It wasn't easy though, I missed him the moment we went to bed in separate rooms and now I miss his good morning kiss.

I sighed, got out of bed and went straight to the shower. Hot water was running down my body, relaxing my muscles, I felt the nervousness grow inside my body regardless. It felt unreal, all of it. A year ago I was a preoccupied with my business, having causal hookups and constant fights with Petar, I had no fantasies about marrying especially not at this age and I thought my life was complete. Not that it wasn't, I loved my life before, I was absolutely happy and I never felt like I missed something, but when Erik came into my life, I realized that I was longing for love. I desired to feel held and loved by someone other than myself, my parents, and my friends. Deep down I wanted to feel appreciated and valued, praised for who I am and somehow worshiped. I guess you never know what you truly needed until it comes into your life, and Erik was the last piece of my puzzle.

By the time I got out of the bathroom, the room service had arrived and placed my breakfast on the table. They served a cup of strong, black coffee together with omelet, bacon, and vegetables. I ate in silence and an hour later I heard a knock on the door.

"We are here" I heard couple of voices from behind the door. I opened the door and saw the beauty team that I hired for the wedding. In the next two hours they will take care of my makeup, hair, and manicure. They will also help me with the dress since I didn't want anyone to see me in the dress before the ceremony.

"Heyy, welcome" I greeted them with a smile. They quickly set up everything and seated me on the chair.

"Has the excitement hit you yet, miss Ana?" the hairdresser asked me.

"You can even imagine" I giggled. It was true, excitement and nervousness occupied my body. I was so impatient, and a little bit angry because time was moving so slow.

Two long hours later I was looking at myself in the mirror. My hair was in soft curls that gently touched my back, and my makeup was light except for the lipstick. The red lipstick made my lips and face shine bright and when I smiled it lit up my face even more. The dress was blindly white and smooth, the material was nicely wrapped around my curves and at the back it had a long tail. At the front there was a big ribbon. The dress was strapless and my strong shoulders popped which made me feel hot and comfortable in my own skin.

I thanked the whole team and walked them to the door. I took some goofy pictures of myself and drank another glass of champagne that the beauty team brought with them. I already had two glasses and if I continue like this, I will be an excellent example for how not to behave as a bride.

I heard another knock on the door and I knew exactly who was behind it. It was my father because it was time for us to go at the venue. I opened the door, and he raised his eyebrows in surprise, "My sweet child, my little dove" he looked at me with watery eyes, "You are gorgeous" he paused for a second, "You were this little" he gestured with his hand, "And now you are getting married".

"Time flies" I giggled and hugged him tightly. We hugged for a good minute when he pulled out of the hug, "Let's go sweetie". I grabbed my purse and the bouquet which was made of twenty white roses and we left the room.

The hotel wasn't far from the wedding venue. Only ten minutes later we arrived in front of the big wooden doors and two guards were standing there, waiting for us to give them a sign to open the doors. My hands started shaking and I almost dropped the bouquet, I took two deep breaths and I nodded at the guards to open the doors. As we entered the venue the pianist started playing 'Just the way you are' and we crossed between the big white curtains. Then I saw everyone already standing and smiling while me and my father stood there for a minute.
