The mermaids and their friends and families are driving up the mountain to do some skiing. Leo's dad's friend owns a private lodge that everyone can stay in while skiing at the ski base nearby. "How did everyone convince us to join them on this trip again?" Leo asked as he was bundled up from head to toe with his heavy blue jacket and pants with black gloves and a hat.

"They didn't, they just dragged us out here." Angel was wearing a heavy purple jacket with matching gloves and earmuffs. "We don't even know if we'll change in the snow. It's frozen but it's still water nonetheless." She turned to ask April about it when she noticed her moving her fingers along the window. "Um, April? What are you doing?" she looked at them excited. "Check this out!"

Adjusting her yellow coat, she took off her orange gloves to show them what got her attention. Everyone looked in fascination as frost formed on the window and April was able to manipulate it. "How are you doing that?" Angel asked in awe. April put her hand on her chin to contemplate why she can manipulate the snow.

"The only thing I can think of is that I can already freeze water when I touch it. Maybe since the ice and snow are already frozen I can just manipulate it like Leo does with normal water." Everyone was in awe by this new development. "At least your powers are heightened. I can't do anything with mine in this weather." Gerry was complaining behind them in his heavy silver coat and yellow scarf.

He waved his hand at the window, but nothing happened. Angel waved her hand and the frost on the window melted in an instant. "Looks like I still have motor control with my powers. How about you Leo?" he pointed at his window and squinted his eyes. After a few seconds he breathed heavily. "I can barely move a snowflake. The snow is denser which makes it harder for me to manipulate it. I might need a lot of practice before I can handle it like April does."

They were interrupted by Leo's brother Raph. "Would you please spare me a moment of peace? I'm trying to take a nap here. Mikey! Put your phone away!" He was swatting at him with his red coat and grey gloves. Leo's youngest brother Mikey was videotaping him snoring with his orange jacket and green hat. "C'mon bro! You can be an internet sensation! I even came up with a few names for your video!"

"The snoring tractor. The snorable snowman. The..." he didn't get to finish as Raph grabbed his phone. "Hey! Give that back!" as they were fighting over the phone, Leo's dad spoke up. "Children! Don't make me pull over!" the fighting stopped, but they were glaring at each other. "Why am I stuck with you guys? the other car would've been way better." "That's because Mona would've been with you making out through the whole trip." He blushed deep red making everyone laugh. "Shut it Mikey!"

As they began to argue again, Angel nudged Leo mischievously. "Too bad Venus couldn't come huh? I could picture you two snuggling close to the fire." It was his turn to blush. "She probably would've preferred to be outside. Besides, she and her family don't do well in the snowy weather. Venus and her father would hibernate while her mother and brother would stay frozen in place. Like calamari ready to be served."

She imagined what they would look like. "How's it going with Mars?" she rolled her eyes. "He texts me all the time no thanks to you two." They laughed. She looked at them with spite. What felt like forever, they made it. It was a nice two-story log cabin with a hot tub and balcony included. The second vehicle pulled up. Mona and her family hopped out with Ryan. Casey and Donny were also exiting the vehicle. "Next time, you go with them and Raph comes with us. If I hear anymore nerd talk I'm going to explode."

"You too Case?" Casey was beyond relieved to see his best friend. Raph and Mona were going to kiss when a snowball hit him right in the face. "Mikey!" a snowball fight ensued. It wasn't long before the mermaids got hit where their bit of skin was exposed on their faces. They began glowing. That stopped everyone. "What's happening?" Leo and the others changed into translucent mermaids. They were different colors with their tails and bodies able to go right through the snow.
