Nakul had been utterly distraught once he saw that Ayush had let go of him and run away. He had hunted around but hadn't been able to find him, WHAT KIND OF AN INVESTIGATOR AGENT AM I?! He returned to the ice cream cart in hopes that he would have toddled back. Luckily, to his great relief, Ayu was intact, holding hands with a small person wearing a red and black flannel shirt open over a black shirt and ripped blue jeans, an army print backpack hanging off a shoulder. He looked like a college kid.

Upon seeing the guy close up, Nakul almost froze. He was skinny, delicate-looking like a fragile sculpture. Just as beautiful as one too. He had longish midnight black hair, the bangs sweeping his forehead, covering his eyebrows. He had a pale, heart shaped face with a sharp jawline and high cheekbones. Pretty lips, bottom one clearly bitten a lot and a splash of tan freckles sprayed across his nose. The most intriguing though were his eyes. Bright, amber eyes like solid pools of honey, big and shiny. Nakul couldn't tell how old he was though. He could have been anything from 18 to 25. However old he was, the man was beautiful. He could barely bring himself to smile and say "Aki, I presume?"

"Akabane actually." The pretty man said in a soft but sweet voice "And yes that's me."

"Well I'm Nakul and thank you so much for bringing Ayush back." He said, eternally grateful for having his son back thanks to this guy "I really couldn't thank you enough."

"It's fine." Akabane replied looking away Social anxiety? Nerves? Seems like he isn't the social type. "He's back to you now so I'll leave you to your outing."

"Aki going?" Ayu pouted Not this mood. No anything but this. "Why?"

"Uh sorry Ayu but um I have work soon." Akabane said.

"What work? It's the weekend." Ayu frowned. Ayu! I swear to God, I am sorry Akabane but my son tends to shapeshift into a middle aged mother at times.

"I have to babysit." Akabane replied smoothly. Let's hope Ayu doesn't ask to be babysat by him-

"You can babysit me then." Ayu grinned "DAD! CAN AKI STAY?"

Nakul chuckled "Come on Ayu. Say thank you to Akabane and say bye okay?"

Ayu scowled, looking more cute than intimidating. Nakul mimicked the scowl, momentarily forgetting the pretty man staring at them with an eyebrow raised. Ayu gave up eventually and sighed "Bye Aki. Thank you."

"No problem Ayu. Bye-bye." Akabane cracked a half-smile, Nakul felt his heart bump just a bit faster. He waved at his son and looked at him "Bye Nakul."

"Thanks again Akabane." He smiled and shook his hand. Oh so small. Cute. He thought, feeling Akabane's cool, calloused hand shake his.

He waved bye and walked away, shouldering the bag again. I guess I'll never see him again... well I'll make sure to let Ayu remember this as he grows up. He decided it was time to both spoil the hell out of and discipline his boy. He raised an eyebrow at Ayu "Where did you go?"

"I followed a cat." He responded readily; this was a drill Ayu was used to given the amount of mischief he was prone to causing.

"Why did you follow the cat when I very specifically told you to stay near me?"

"It was cute and fluffy." Ayu said as if it were an acceptable excuse.

"Not good enough champ. You know what this means." Nakul said sternly "Once we get home you're grounded for the rest of the weekend. You're lucky Akabane was nice and didn't kidnap you or anything."

"Aki gave me a cookie." Ayu mumbled, sad now that he was grounded.

Nakul almost melted at the sight of the cute pout but forced himself to stay serious. No Nakul. He needs to know that there are consequences to misbehaving. This time was really serious. Ayu grumbled to himself in Nakul's arms. He sighed "Ice cream?"
