Nakul drove home in triumph. I solved it! I did it! Yay! I'm coming Aki! Nakul couldn't stop grinning as he drove. Is the gift ready? I'm so gonna shock him. Nakul ran into the house "AKI GUESS WHAT?! Wha-"
The lights were off. He frowned. What's going on here? He walked towards the living room. There was a single candle lit up at the small dining table, it was set for two. Two? Where's Ayu's stuff?
"Uh hi." Aki walked down the stairs shyly and turned the lights on "Sorry I should have uh kept those on I don't know why I kept them off."
Nakul's jaw dropped at the sight of him. He wore a tight satin red shirt, top few buttons open over his fair, lightly defined chest and a silky black ribbon as a choker, ends hanging off the left. His black pants were even tighter than the shirt, showing off his long, slim legs. He looked taller and even skinnier. His jet black hair was pushed back as always but it glistened slightly like it was damp. His lips were glossy and slightly redder and his eyelids were dusted with brown and red. Makeup? There was a subtle sheen of sparkly glitter over his cheeks making his tan freckles look like actual stars. Aki's wearing makeup? He was just the single most beautiful thing Nakul had ever had the fortune to lay eyes on.
"Um is it weird?" Aki pointed to his face and flushed slightly "Emi helped me with it. She said it would be a nice touch-"
"You look... perfect. Just perfect." Nakul whispered, going closer and lightly touching his face. Is he even real? This level of pretty cannot be real.
"Happy anniversary Nakul." Aki whispered softly and kissed him.
His lips tasted a bit like cherry lip gloss but overwhelmingly like Aki's natural sweetness. Nakul sighed into it, kissing him back "Happy anniversary angel... wow..."
"I- I didn't know what to do so I just- I made dinner." Aki gestured to the table "Mrs C told me that if you can't think of a way into a man's heart through gifts then his stomach is the best option."
He did all this for me? Even Liza never did anything like this for me... In all his relationships Nakul had always been the one gifting and planning. He'd never had someone do something like this for him. He laughed breathlessly "Aki... I don't know what to say. Thank you! Oh shit my gift feels like shit now."
"No! I didn't want to make you think yours was shit! It won't be- ARGH I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO SAY!" Aki covered his face.
"Hey, hey calm down angel." Nakul peeled his hands off and tried not to drool over the way Aki's huge honey eyes widened prettily "Um... my gift is just a bit different from yours. I'm not sure if you'll like it."
"Love, I know I'll like it if it's from you." Aki smiled.
"Okay then, come with me. It's in the car." Nakul grabbed Aki's hand and took him to the car "I was going to plant it in earlier but I got caught up at work then I forgot to pick it up over the stupid murder which I solved by the way."
"Plant it?" Aki frowned in confusion but gasped once Nakul pulled out two potted plants.
"Moth orchid bushes. Red and pink." He walked over and watched as Aki lovingly grazed his fingers over the flowers "I thought you'd like planting them in your new garden. You like orchids right?"
"I do." Aki grinned widely "I love it! I love it! I love it! Thank you so much Nakul!"
Aki kissed him over the flowers, still smiling. He helped Nakul put them inside for the time being and led him off to the table "I made a bunch of food. Even had to call Auntie and beg Mrs C for help. Some of which needs heating up so I suggest you go shower. I'll just have everything ready and don't worry about Ayu. He's sleeping over at Beomgyu's so um we can be alone."
