She caught her lip between her teeth. Eyes practically glued to the screen of her pc. There was something about soulmates that had her entranced. Ever since she was little, Y/n found the topic to be highly intriguing. So much so that she'd often catch herself daydreaming about her own soulmate. Not everyone had one. Those who did were seen to be lucky. Either that or unfortunate. Depending on how one might view soulmates.

Y/n just so happened to be one of the lucky/unlucky ones.

Though, she was starting to worry that she might not ever actually meet her soulmate. She was already a university student, and had gotten no closer to meeting her supposed future love interest. A small sigh slipped past her lightly glossed lips. She tilted her head back with a groan, finding out nothing new about soulmates. Even if it had been around for many generations, possibly even hundreds to thousands of years. There was still so much that no one knew about them.

There were different ways one could tell if they had a soulmate. Some people had markings or tattoos, other's could communicate with their soulmate telepathically. Some of them even had a countdown clock etched into their skin. Which basically told them how long it would take for them to meet their partner in crime.

For Y/n, she had her soulmate's first thoughts of her marked into her skin. It said; "why is she starring at me". The writing was black and written in a beautiful and elegant font. The marking itself was placed on her inner left arm. She found herself starring at it often. Sometime's she'd trace the letter's lightly with a finger. She had read once that your soulmate could feel it when you touched the mark. She wondered if it were true. Though sometimes she herself felt something. It was hard to explain the feeling, but it was unlike anything she had ever felt before. It was kind of intimate, but not in a sexual way.

Shaking her head as if to rid herself of those ludicrous thoughts, Y/n stood from her desk chair and stretched. "I really need to focus on this assignment. No more thinking about dumbass soulmates." She muttered to herself, grabbing her mug to get herself a refill of coffee.

Lord knows she needed it.

Leonardo let out a long breath he hadn't realized he had been holding in. Sometimes when he was stressed he'd hold his breath subconsciously. He'd catch himself on the occasion when he'd suddenly gasp for breath. Today seemed like one of those days. Leo shook his head lightly in annoyance. He had been trying to meditate for- honestly hours now. He didn't need this bullshit added onto everything else.

The mutant turtle interlocked his fingers and stretched them. Satisfied when they cracked. Out of habit, he glanced down towards the words written on his arm. His soulmate mark. It read; "fanfiction blue eyes". That was what his soulmate's first thought of him was going to be. It amused him, and he couldn't help but crack a small grin. They didn't seem to care that he was a mutant. Their first thought was going to be about his eyes. It baffled him, especially when he first noticed the mark as a child.
