Kurusu's POV
I really want to be with them...
Their amazing together. They trust each other. Their sounds are beautiful together. I want to be there. Belong with them. But is it alright?
Ever since that incident in middle school, I thought there was no such thing as trust. It all burns down to whether that person is useful or not. But the koto club seems different. Like a distant light that I can't reach. I want to, I really do, but...after what I did...How can I face them?
Haha. I don't need them! Friends just end up hurting you! But...why am I so hesitant? I should just go home, but still I...I want to be with them. Play the koto with them. Laugh with them. And make so many good memories...
My legs move and before I realise it, I'm standing before the koto club.
Should I enter? How will they react? I'd already told them I'm quitting.
My hands shake. I just stand there, with my arm extended to turn the knob but still too afraid.
"Hey what're you doing."
I go stiff. I turn back. KUDO.
I just stand there in shock. "Um...I..."
"If you're not going in then let me go at least. You're blocking the way."
I stand there, stunned by his words. The next words tumble out without me thinking.
"Is it ok for me to join you after all I did?" I ask him with my face down.
"What're you talking about? You're getting me late to practice," he says and enters the room. I just stand there. When they see me Sakai and Kota jump. They rushed to me asking me to teach them some notes. When my eyes meet the others, they all smiled. A single teardrop escaped, but I quickly brush it aside and enter the room.
They are the first people who saw me, accepted me and decided to forgive me. I won't let them down!
Back then, I did not know what I was getting into, but now I know how much fun it is to play it with your friends...
To my besties who I'll cherish forever
