9th October 1988

A few weeks had passed and there wasn't another attack, no more hexed children were turning up which was anything but a relief for Liliana. She wasn't stupid, she knew that with so many attacks in the first few days the cloaked guy was clearly skilled and slick, maybe they stopped when they realised Talbott and her tracked them? If the cloaked figure was as good as she suspected then they were a much more dangerous threat than was initially thought.

It was night and Liliana was walking through the castle alone, the majestic architecture was mesmerising to her, she looked up at the intriquent carved details upon the ceiling, the drawings told stories that were otherwise likely to be lost in time. She liked to walk through the castle alone at night, she was comforted by the echo of her footsteps ringing through the halls and the soft whispers coming from the paintings. She turned a corner and was suddenly pushed by Merula. Her calm was very quickly ruined.

"What the-" she began before noticing a stone imitation of Mrs Norris on the floor and Flitch crying behind her.
"Good luck." Merula winked before running off. Liliana was shocked and stood still for a bit too long, Flitch noticed and began screaming as he stood ready to chase her.
"It wasn't me!" Liliana shouted before swiftly turning back around and running off. She went through every shortcut imaginable but Flitch was still hot on her tail, 'thank god he's a squib' she thought while sprinting up an unoccupied staircase.

It was old and the walls around seemed to be crumbling slightly, as she reached the top she realised it went to no where. She was stuck. The hallway was a dead end so she had no choice. Liliana jumped out of a small window and turned into her Amigus, she drifted through the sky and watched behind as Flitch cursed himself for not catching her. He didn't realise she could fly away. She couldn't go straight back to her dorm so she flew to a nearby tower, the owlery.

Liliana flew through a small opening in the tower and quickly turned back, her limbs ached and her arms had small cuts all over them, she definitely needed to practice flying. Her face tensed as she tried to preform a healing spell with her wobbly hand.
"It always takes a while to get used to." Liliana didn't realise there was another person there, she turned around into an offensive stance and cast a quick knock back charm which was effortlessly deflected by the figure across the room.

The shadows of high hung shelves made the figure almost unidentifiable but upon further inspection Liliana immediately recognised him,
"You could of at least made that deflection look difficult, Winger." He walked towards her with a slow pace,
"You're the self proclaimed curse breaker, you probably shouldn't have attacked before knowing what's there." Liliana kept her wand raised as she stared down the boy in front of her, his hair was as slick as always, pulled back perfectly with a small collection of loose hairs to frame his face, it was effortlessly perfect.

Perfect hair didn't prevent her from being pissed off.
"With that attitude I might start practicing some curses I've wanted to try." He walked closer and her wand raised from aiming at his chest to throat, "You would be a great subject." She sneered looking straight into his eyes.

He let out a small laugh, as if daring her to try. "You're quite funny sometimes Liliana." His face stayed neutral, showing no emotion but his voice was low and grungy, patronising even, as he looked down on her with squinted eyes. She reluctantly put her wand down but her threat was still valid, very, very much valid.

She grinned making him turn away, he went to stand by the Owls and began to stroke them gently. Most noticed Talbott had a strong desire to be permanently by himself but Liliana thought this was merely defensive, maybe being around those stupider than him was a bore but no one could be truly alone, not for too long anyway, and Talbott, despite all his efforts, wasn't the exception.
