The sun gradually came up, it's piercing glare lit up the inside of the tower, waking both the teenagers sat inside it.
Liliana winced as the bright light irritated her eyes, she furrowed her head further into talbotts chest and wiggled even closer to him, "You're comfy." She murmured to herself unaware he was completely awake and heard.
He couldn't hide the uncontrollable smile from seeing her so close to him but his back was rigid from being upright all night, "yeah but this wall isn't." His voice was horse and deep which shocked Liliana, his voice was always deep, charming really, but never so rough. She hated herself for fixating on it for a short while, why was she noticing these naff things?
He tried moving a bit but was met with a surprisingly forceful push from Liliana who still had closed eyes. "Just wait a bit longer." So he did.
He took his right hand from around Liliana which she grunted at but started softly tugging on her loose hairs as he waited for her to wake up. He followed their curls with his finger and brushed the back of her neck which she hummed in aprovememt at.
She was asleep for another hour and the sun had almost fully risen so bright orange light filled the school, Talbott softly shook Liliana awake who muttered curses in response. "I don't want to get up yet." She groaned while still holding herself between Talbott's arms, "I've already sat here for an hour, come on Gutierrez."
"An hour? You must really like me winger!" She exclaimed in sarcastic happiness. Which made his eyes roll.
"Not in the slightest." He stood up and walked to face Liliana offering a hand.
She scoffed and slapped his hand away, "I don't need your help getting up Winger." Her voice was sharp, assertive.
He took her hand anyway and pulled her up with ease, she wasn't that light and was shocked how he lifted her. "I said I didn't want help."
"You say a lot of things."
"Well that's what mouths are for." She grinned and looked up at him with sleepy eyes, "of course they do other things as well."
He mentally smacked his face and looked down at the floor, "You have got to stop that."
"I like making you uncomfortable, your cheeks go pink." She pointed to him and sure enough his cheeks were a vibrant cherry red. He turned to look at her again but the suns place changed and his skin looked like that of a fruit peel.
"I stand corrected, you're orange not pink."
"I'm Egyptian, not an Oompa Loompa." she laughed and turned to walk towards the winding staircase before hearing Talbott walk towards the banister away from her.
He looked back at her with a mischievous grin, "I think you'll enjoy this." His eyes twinkled and he took a few steps before jumping over the banister and falling to the ground. Liliana ran up to it just in time to see the yellow glow before he became an eagle and elegantly turned away from the floor and into the air.
"You're quite surprising Winger." She muttered before taking a deep breath and running up to that same banister.
She lept over it and was soon hurtling to the ground. The wind attacked her as she gained velocity and just as she reached the stone pathway she transformed into her Anmigus and then quickly rose high into the sky.
It was almost as good as a broom ... almost.
She followed Talbott through the warm air over school grounds, they stayed side by side but he was definitely the quicker flyer when going at full speed, bigger, faster and stronger than her. They made the way to the edge of the castle and Talbott transformed with Liliana just behind. The majestic motion of him changing back was admirable but Liliana almost fell to a heap. her knees
Bent inwards and arms were loose as she tried walking upright into the corridors but stabbing pain was still felt through half her body.
