six • 'They look like shitty Contortionists'

Scotland is cold, freezing even and it's not the type of cold that gives you snow, none of the UK was to be honest. As October dragged on bitter winds began emerging, forcing the students to stay inside.

Liliana was sat in the great hall practically drooling while imagining dinner, she was starving. The school day had finished a few hours ago and her year was meant to be doing productive study, it often wasn't very productive though.

"Odds on Diego setting the table on fire." Jae said confidently,

"How about we don't do that," Rowan said before she was interrupted by Diego accepting the bet.

"50." Liliana scoffed hearing this,

"Pussy." Charlie muttered, Making Diego lower his number.

"Ok fine, 40" everyone stayed quiet
"30?" He continued but was met again with no response.
"Ok 20."

"That's more like it." Jae said grinning, Diego didn't know this but Jae had Ben teach him a simple mind reading charm, it only worked with simple words or phrases but they could put use to it.

Liliana often thought of Ben, she had barely seen him at all this year, it was like he was avoiding her and all their other friends but she didn't take too much notice. He was most likely more anxious than usual even though it was almost impossible to be as anxious and scared as that boy was each day.

Jae glared into Diego's eyes trying to activate his mind reading, he nodded which was the que for Liliana to start.
"3..2..1"

"19" both boys said simultaneously, Diego looked in shock as everyone grinned,
"No way you did that!"

"Come on you can't back down now." Charlie said gripping his shoulder.

Jae grinned and began to look around,
"Which table will it be... let me think."

"That doesn't happen often." Rowan said without looking up from her book. Jae gripped his heart as if he had been shot,
"You're killing me." He stuttered. Rowan rolled her eyes once more in response. "Slytherin." Jae said.

"Woah Woah Woah... no." Liliana said looking at Jae,

"What? I don't like Snape."

"I eat my food there!"

"Do Ravenclaw, no one here's in that house." Rowan said gesturing at their small study group. Diego shrugged and began his charm,
"Wait Tulips on the end of that table, set the fire right next to her." Liliana said pointing across the Hall. The Houses were supposed to mix during study but Ravenclaws stayed together since most were infuriated by anyone with an IQ below 120.

Diego swiftly cast the spell and the group watched in Glee as Tulip jumped up trying to hold her Frog and Wand to keep them safe, it was only a small fire so nothing should of gotten seriously damaged.

However, as this is Hogwarts a group of 4th years were practicing the wind blowing charm and accidentally aimed it right at the fire making it suddenly erupt upwards.
"That is not how wind and fire is meant to combine!" Rowan said as everyone jumped up. Mcgnagall was quick to put the flame out and help Tulip. Diego looked traumatised. If he got caught he likely wouldn't be leaving the kitchens for another year.

"Diego looks like he just got slapped across the face." Penny said walking up to the group.

"I'm not in the mood." He responded trying to melt into his seat. Jae couldn't stop laughing which caught Mcgnagall's attention, Liliana quickly kicked him in the shin, forcing him to stop.
