"Merlin, Gutierrez. You aren't even trying." Radpicks voice hissed into the damp abandoned classroom, glaring into Liliana as she shivered in the cold enclosed space.
Her fingers tightened on the woman's cheeks but she couldn't bring herself to enter, she couldn't handle any more words, any more noise, than she was already subjected to.
"Goddammit child. Do it." The woman's cheeks began to flush red with anger, her hands rose gripping onto Lilian's shaking wrists, her skin had paled from exhaustion over the few weeks and the veins below her skin began tinting a ghastly purple when she had stopped sleeping properly.
Her mind was a mess, and all Radpick wanted to do was enhance her intrusive abilities, how well she could force herself into someone's mind and find all that they didn't want her to know. Liliana didn't need this, she needed help blocking out the unfortunate byproduct of her new skills instead of simply enhancing her raw ability.
"I-." She stammered, and Lilian Gutierrez didn't stammer. "I don't want to." Her voice rose sharply as she pulled her hands away from the redheads grip, soothing her left wrist with circuler beats attempting To find an action she could fiddle and distract herself with.
The woman only scowled, annoyance clear through her tone, "I do not care Gutierrez, you will not fail like your brother." Lilianas head shot up, her eyes blazing a dark swarming blue.
"Don't you dare mention Jacob to me, ever." She scowled, lowering her hands into fisted balls beside her figure.
Radpicks gaze didn't falter, "you heard me, Child. He failed and I am counting on you getting me further when he couldn't." Liliana didn't even have time to process her words, she barely even remembered what came out of the woman's mouth only that it was fouls and she hated it.
Liliana a mind flooded with rage as she flicked her wrists to the side making The dusty oak desks that had been dotted around the room suddenly crashed into the damp stone walls, echoing a crash through the dark room in a cruel vibration. Liliana took one step closer to Radpick and raised her hands to the woman's face with such rapid force the woman had no time to react.
And then, she was in.
She saw everything from the woman's childhood, a few snippets from Hogwarts and even late night discussions in foreign pubs. She saw it all, and yet the information seemed useless.
Until she was caught in a scene where Radpick stood around various figures in red cloaks, shielding their faces entirely. She looked around the room, it had similarities to back rooms she knew of in the three broomsticks but instead the lighting was white cold, the contrasting shadows of all the rooms members which cascaded tall and thin against the walls, Liliana shivered from witnessing Radpicks memories, she knew she wasn't safe there.
And then she was out, Radpick finally kicking her from her mind and from the look on her face she had seen more than intended. Liliana hadn't even noticed the tight grip her nails had taken to the woman's cheeks, imprinting across her skin.
Whatever the dark room was, Radpick had intended to keep it hidden from her, clearly underestimating how effective edging Liliana on was.
She pulled back, removing any void of emotion from her voice as she held her head up high once again, "now, you will tell me how to mute the unwanted thoughts I hear from those in close proximity to me. No one warned me of the consequences this power would have and for that you have a responsibility to sheild me from it."
Liliana knew it wasn't a common side effect, only for individuals interacting with dark objects or with raw magical power. She was still yet to understand where this came from.
