"you all should head back home, get some rest and we will take your statements in the morning. and Mikey you will stay with us for the night." the sheriff patted Yuzuha's back and addressed us all. he walked to the cops and began chatting with them.
"Now that we are here and everything is over," Mikey mumbled, watching my face and breathing heavy. Everyone knew what he was doing, I knew he wanted me and now was the time to asked me out again.
"I have always loved you, Y/n, always. I know there is no excuse for my actions, I know how I have been nothing but a pain to you but I urge to change it. You are the only girl I have ever loved, my brother used my love for you against me. He poisoned my mind, he knew I would do anything to be with you. I was blinded with his love because, in my head, I knew only he would help me have you and I fell for his tricks. I would have died the moment I came to know about him betrayal, his fate for me, but it was your sight that have me hope. I might not be the best person, but I will try my best to be the person you thought I was when you fell for me. It might not be the right time in anyone's eyes, but for me, it is the right time. I have to know, I have to know if you can give me another chance Y/n." he pulled his hand out for me and watched my face with hope in his eyes.
His words stung to my heart, everything sounded genuine. Without any delay, I held my hand out and grabbed his hand. I can hear gasps from the surroundings, but I was done with what people think anymore.
"We should head back home," Sanzu added and walked away from us.
SANZU'S POV
"We should head back home," I mumbled and turned away, how can I die so many times in this one single night. I felt my heart stopping when she didn't want to leave the house without Mikey, I felt hard to breathe when she pushed me away and hugged him, I died the instant she held his hand and let go off me.
"you stupid Sanzu," I mumbled in my mouth, running a hand through my hair and instantly shoving it back in my pocket, I didn't want to show her the burnt marks from the fire on my hand, because I didn't want her to get upset. I turned around and saw Y/n hugging Mikey and I quickly veered straight again.
"Just to keep her safe from the pain, you have lost her today," I uttered to myself again, the stupid tears were blurring my vision.
"It's okay, Sanzu, go back home and umm eat something, apply something on it while Mikey and Y/n! No! Stop thinking. Don't even think about anything, keep your mind empty and you will feel no pain." At least my mind was talking to me.
"Ah Sanzu, you were never the love of her life, you stupid, stupid Sanzu." I laughed weakly to myself, going back to the mansion empty-handed with a woman who claims to be my mother, but had no good intentions for me, wow things are back to normal. "You fool, you stupid Sanzu." I cussed in my mouth.
"You stupid Sanzu!" I halted on my spot.
Y/N'S POV
Sanzu walked away, I know he was in pain, but all the pain was going to end tonight.
"I appreciate your care and love Mikey, but if I say that I want to be with you, that would be a lie." I smiled and held his hand tight, disappointment struck him, "You should love someone who would love you for who you are, not for who they think you are. Be real and you will find someone who will love you the way you are. But that person isn't me Mikey, I care for you as I care for all my friends, but love," I sighed, "Do you see that idiot walking away?" I gestured towards Sanzu and Yuzuha jumped in happiness, "That idiot is my life. You know when I kissed you that night, I felt nothing but guilt, I can't even imagine being with someone other than him. His smile makes me smile and his tears made me cry, that is love. But I assure you, you will find someone who will love you like, I love that idiot." I smiled and he weakly smiled, lowering his head and shaking it.
"I am so sorry for putting you in this awkward position." he smiled,
"It is fine, but that doesn't mean I don't care about you, but right now I have to go or that idiot would leave thinking he is alone." I laughed and hugged Mikey one last time.
"I am happy to see you think strong," Mikey whispered in my ear and I smiled at him once I broke the hug. I turned around and ran after Sanzu.
"Ah Sanzu, you were never the love of her life, you stupid, stupid Sanzu." I heard him talking to himself and I couldn't wait till I pull him in my arms. "You fool, you stupid Sanzu," he mumbled to himself.
"You stupid Sanzu!" I stated loudly and he halted, wasn't expecting me I can tell. He turned around in shock and his eyes jumped out more, but he instantly cleaned his tears and gave me the fakeist smile ever.
"You are idiot you know that right?" I stated and he nodded, not looking at my face.
"You think I will spare you just like that?" I mumbled and tried to make him look at me, but he was too hurt to do that and I don't blame him.
"I am sorry," I mumbled and he scoffed.
"No problem, the heart wants what it wants," he announced, still not looking at me.
"And what if I say my heart wants that stupid Sanzu, then?" I murmured, and he hurriedly looked at me, making deep eye contact in shock. "I am sorry because I kissed him, I was angry and mad at you, I wanted to cheat too, but all I felt was guilt." I confessed, he was too shocked to react, "You know when you were trapped in my room and Mikey was unconscious on the floor, Shinichiro asked me to choose one and the other would die." I said, he was paying his whole attention to me.
"I almost said your name but you broke the door and got in." I admitted, "I can see the world die, but not you Sanzu, you know why?" I asked and he closed his eyes, "Because I love you." he opened them and exhaled in relief.
"During this time, I was pushing you away because I wanted to show that I am hard to get. I was playing hard, but I will play hard to be with you, fight with everyone for you." I don't know what I was saying but my words were making him smile and I was enjoying it.
"Say something I wanna her your voice." I punched his chest and he laughed, cleaning the tears with his hand and that's when I saw his skin.
"How, when?" I held his hand tightly and looked at his face in worry.
"I love you sooo much Y/n." he whispered and pulled me close, "I will never hide anything from you because I don't want you to go around kissing people in revenge." he almost laughed but held it back. I fought out of his embrace and slapped him, he began laughing and the others too joined.
"You need to let the doctor see that." Mikey smiled, Sanzu watched his face and slowly approached him, they both stared for a moment and then hugged.
"Take care of her." Mikey showed fake anger and smiled afterward.
"No harm will ever come her way when she is with me," Sanzu walked towards me and hugged me again, his scent was the best smell my nostrils have ever felt. I loved the fact that he still came after me even when he saw me kissing Mikey, that's true love.
The fact that I chose Sanzu in front of Shinichiro made Yuzuha too sure of my love for Sanzu, if I had to save one from death, it would be sanzu again and again. And now was the time for that happy ending kiss. I laughed and looked at Sanzu, who raised his brow and bit his lip.
"Come here," he wrapped his one arm around my back and pulled me closer to his chest, meeting his lips with mine.
