[a lil spicy]
Camila sat cross-legged in the middle of her bed, her laptop in front of her as she scrolled through various online stores trying to find the perfect decorations for a fairy themed toddler birthday party. She could feel her back aching from the poor posture of her slumped over her own legs but she was too focused on her party planning to switch into a better position. It was also nearly 1 AM. Logically, she knew she should probably get some sleep soon considering she did have to work in the morning. But again, she was focused on Maggie's party.
It had been three days since the night she had helped her boyfriend with baby Micah, which also unfortunately meant it had been three days since she had seen Shawn. They were both so busy — her with work and him with work and the kids. They still talked all the time on the phone but she missed being with him physically.
Just as the thought of him crossed her mind, her phone buzzed against the mattress. It was him.
S: any chance you're still awake?
Camila bit her bottom lip to hide the smile taking over her face as she typed out a response.
C: About a 100% chance :)
Seconds after she hit 'send', her phone began ringing with a call from him. She swiped her thumb across the screen to answer it.
"Hey hottie," she giggled into the phone.
"Come over."
"What?"
"Please? It's been too long since I've seen you. I miss you. Can you come over?"
"It's late, baby..." she reminded him.
"I'm aware. Is that okay? I know you have to work tomorrow but...I mean, you can stay the night here, if you want..."
"Are you sure?"
"I'm sure."
"Are you sneaking me in?" she giggled. "How rebellious of us."
"I promise we won't get caught," he whispered into the phone, his voice husky and deep yet playful. Camila was just grateful he couldn't see how hard she was blushing over the phone.
"I'll be there in a few minutes, okay?"
"I can't wait. I love you."
"I love you too." Camila ended the call and hastily rolled off her bed and stood up, immediately groaning when she felt the ache in her back courtesy of the way she had been sitting.
It was kind of silly how excited she was about staying the night at his house. It wasn't like she'd never stayed at a guys house before — but she hadn't stayed at a guy's place who she truly loved and cared about as much as she did Shawn.
She packed an overnight bag as quickly as she could, stopping in her bathroom to make sure she looked presentable before running out the door and getting into her car. She was giddy with excitement as she drove across town to his house. When she got there, she closed her car door as quietly as possible in the hopes of not waking the kids. She walked silently up to the front door, smiling wide when she saw it be pushed open slowly to reveal her boyfriend standing there with messy hair and a sleepy smile.
"Hi," Camila whispered as she approached him, standing up on her tiptoes to give him a quick kiss on the lips.
"Come in," he said as he stepped to the side to let her in. "Just try to be quiet — I don't want the kids to wake up."
They tried to keep their steps light as a feather as they made their way back to his bedroom. Camila set her bag on the bed as Shawn closed the door behind them. The fact that he took a moment to lock the door as well wasn't lost on her.
