Few days later
Geni pov
"Goodmorning" said Mr Bennett.
He nodded his head and looked back into his rear view mirror.
I headed towards the back of the bud to my seat.
"You're not sitting here Mo" all of the 6th grade girls called out.
I rolled my eyes and waved him to my seat.
"They always fucking with you?" He just shrugged his shoulders.
"What's your name?" "Mo" "hey Mo, im Geni. You okay?" "Yeah. Just tired"
"How many hours of sleep do you get?"
He shrugged his shoulders again and I understood.
He didn't want me knowing too much of his business and I get that.
"You have stuff in your hair. Can I get it?" "Yeah"
He leaned his head over and I picked the white stuff out of his hair.
"Genesis what you doing for 4th block?" "Tutoring probably" "You wanna help me set up this board in the hallway?" "Sure". Ms Taye nodded her head and I took my seat.
End of the day.
"We have to get the middle schoolers today?" Mia delayed ass asked Mr Bennett.
"Yes"
"Why would you ask that. You know we do that everyday" Berry said.
"You know she a little delayed" i said sitting in my seat.
I looked on my phone listening to music not really in reality til I felt somebody slam down into my seat. It was Mo.
"You okay?" He nodded and pulled his hood over his head.
"Y'all better stop he's mad" I heard one of the little boys say.
"He can't be mad his hair stank" the little girl replied back.
I looked around seeing who they were talking about before I heard Mo puff up and down.
I took note and told them to sit down so Mr Bennett could pull off. The girl rolled her eyes but she sat down.
Mo got off the bus and I got off behind him.
He speed walked toward his house but I stopped him.
"Mo".
He turned around.
"They was talking about you?" He nodded.
"How about i come get you tomorrow and we can chill. I can wash your hair, take you to get it cut and braid it?"
"I don't know if my mom ah let me"
"I can talk to her"
"No it's straight"
"You sure?"
He nodded and walked to his house.
I walked down the street and into my house.
"How was school?" Jasun asked.
"It was alright. Same old. How was work?"
"It was good. Your fathers upstairs sleep. I'm going to the office to deal with them crazy people. I'll see you later?" "Duh you know im not going anywhere else" I said.
Jasun kissed my forehead and left out.
Sat morning
"Geni" I heard my dad call.
"Yes?" I said walking into the kitchen.
"We're running to the store. You want anything?"
"Some goldfish and grape juice!" "That's all?" I nodded.
"You don't have plans?" "No" "Geni you need friends. It's your senior year. You needa get out and live" "I will. One day"
"When that day comes, I'll be so happy for you. I'll even let you drive my car"
I chuckled at Jasuns comment.
"Bet"
After I ate, I decided to clean my room and bathroom.
After cleaning I just laid down and finished raising dion.

knockknockknock
I went to the door.
"Mo?" "Can I take you up on that offer still. My mom went out"
I nodded taken aback.
"Yeah sure. Just lemme get dressed. Come in".
I led him to my room.
"You can watch whatever, it's snacks in that top drawer. I'm getting in the shower it'll be quick!"
I looked around for what else to say peeping the game but it wasn't hooked up.
After showering I put some clothes on and went into my dads room.
"Jasun can I borrow your car now?" "You have friends?" "Yep"
"Forreal?" Him and das said at the same time.
I nodded and grabbed the keys off his wall and called out for Mo to come on.
I took him to the barber shop and I got good hair cut. On the way we stopped past the hair store to pick up some stuff I need.
"Whatchu want to eat?" "It doesn't matter" he shrugged.
"Pizza, Chinese food?"
"Pizza" "what's your favorite kind?"
"Cheese" "eww you're plain" "pepperoni is nasty forreal".
We laughed and I drove to papa Johns.
I washed his hair and I braided his hair while he ate.

"It's late. I know your mom probably high off her ass" "she's not" "you sure?" He nodded.
"Well let's get you home anyways"
I grabbed his other box of pizza and we walked up the street to his house.
"Anybody home?" "She never home" "forreal? You just want to come back to mines?" "No. She gonna want me here when she gets back" "she always out?" He shook his head no.
"We'll go ahead then. Wait put my number in your phone so you can call me. Text me whenever. I can be your big sister. If you need anything let me know" I said saving my number in his phone.
I waited on him to go in the house then I walked home.
"That was "your friend"?" "More like a little brother. The kids was bullying him about his hair so I just decided to help him out a bit" "that was nice but you cheated. We were talking about a friend your age" "oh".
I giggle and then went into the room.
