Nique pov
"Mo. You did your homework?" "Huh?" "Homework?"
He nodded his head still focusing on his phone.
"Mo" "what?"
I cocked my eyes brows. Who tf?
"Your homework?" I said taking his phone from his hands.
"Give my stuff back" he yelled getting angry.
"Mo chill. It's not deep.Just did you do your homework?" "No" "why not?" "Cause". He held his hand out for his phone back.
"Do your homework first" I said turning out the room.
"No" "Mo just do your homework. It's not deep" "I don't have to listen to you, you're not my mom"
"You're right I'm not. Im your big sister, so you have to listen to me"
"Since when. You came back like a month ago and now you wanna play big sister" he spat.
"Mo shut up" "no you. You think you can just come back like everything's normal and it's not. It could've been. Yeah it could've been if you wasn't so stuck of drugs. Druggy" he said.
I grabbed his jacket. "Hit me Nique"
"Fuck you" i said before letting him go and storming out the house.
I drove around ending up at Genis house.
"You okay?" She grabbed my hand and led me into her room.
"Nique?"
"I'm good G"
"What's wrong then?"
"Nothing. I just needa calm down"
"for what Nique what happened... you can talk to me you know that right?"
It was quiet for a few.
"Mo went off on me for not being in his life forreal and he doesn't even know why"
"Well what made him go off?"
"I took his phone cause he didn't do his homework"
"You should talk to him"
"How am I supposed to tell a 11 year old his sister was-" i exhaled cutting myself off.
"Tell him what?" She grabbed my hand.
"When i came out to my mom, she didn't like it. She'd make stuff hard for me and.. basically it was unfair so I stopped coming home. Stop coming home means I had to go somewhere else so I started fucking with the cougar. I don't know she was a druggy until I was too in deep. She took my in and taught me the work. Shit went left and I ended up wandering the streets at 2 am and ended up high as fuck off fentanyl. Once my mom found out what it was she immediately packed my shit and sent me upstate. I rarely came home and when I did I didn't want to be there no more so I just stayed north. I eventually got better but then relapsed and the whole process started over again"
I seen her nod.
"I'm about 2 years clean now. I vow to never do it again ever"
She took my hand and kissed it.
"I'm sorry for judging you too. When I first met you" she continued rubbing my hand.
"It's good G. You didn't know"
"Are you going to talk to him?" "I will. Right now I'm just over it. Tired". She pulled me into a hug.
"You wanna lay?"
I tugged my jacket off and laid with her.
We watched 101 Dalmatians.
"I'm going to the bathroom". I got up and went into the bathroom and used it and washed my hands but before I went out I heard mumbling. It sounded like she was on the phone with Mo.
I couldn't hear what she was saying so I went back in the room.
"Mo ima call you later" she said before hanging up.
"What'd he say?" "You should go home" i cocked my eyebrows.
"You kicking me out?" She reached for my hand and pulled my into her bed.
"No. No. I just want you to talk to him. Tomorrow. I want you to stay the night and in the morning we'll go eat and bring Mo back some food. What's his favorite?"
"Penn station and Waffle House" "great big sister" and she kissed my forehead.
I blushed.
"I wanna be even?" "Huh?" I scrunched my eyebrows.
"You told me about what happened with you, not I wanna tell you what happened with me" "You don't have to"
She grabbed my hands. "No but i want to. I needa tell you" "what?"
"I was with my mama, my little sister and my moms boyfriend at this time. Her and my father had been divorced for like 2 years and he'd been talking with Jasun so I guess she was embarrassed that he was bi and he was showing it so she was just angry at times. One night. It was right before school started. August 22nd Wednesday night and I had first got my period and my mom was out. I was so fucking stupid at the time and trusted her boyfriend with the period information and he ended up telling me my mom would be mad that I started it and he knew a way to get rid of it. He told me before he did it but when he tried, I knew that wasn't the way but before I could come to the realizing he already had pinned me down. Before he could get my pants down I fought him and stabbed him with the closest thing which was a screw driver. And I kept stabbing and on my like 2nd to last stab my mom and my sister walked in. I didn't even hear the lock unlock. They saw me almost stab a man to death. He had survived. But he's in jail locked away. He's going to be coming out soon. Irrelevant. I went on for questioning they couldn't charge me cause I was a minor but it did go on my record. My mom was so pissed at me I slept in the police place until my dad could get to me. He came as quick as he can and I immediately moved here and started a new life. You're the only one who knows"
I took all of it in.
"Damn baby. You like that forreal. Remind me not to fuck with you" i said.
"Nooo Nique that's not good" she wined.
"You did whatchu had to do though ma. I'm sorry all that happened to you"
I kissed her forehead.
We had conversations all night learning more and more about each other then falling asleep.
