"Come. What's wrong" I said to Nique who was groaning in pain and holding her stomach.
Her eyes were closed and she looked as if she could barely walk.
"Just cramps" she said wiping her nose and sitting beside me.
"Just cramps mama? You been looking rough hella lately"
"Period symptoms ma" she shrugged off still in pain.
"You took a pill?"
She shook her head no.
"Why not?"
I don't take them anymore"

"They're a sign of weakness"
I mugged her.
"Nique i don't know why you still on that Pen shit but you out now"
I handed her some water and tossed the pills in her mouth.

Afterwards I gave her some liquid medicine and made her some chicken noodle soup.
"Thank you ma, but I can't eat"
I shrugged and made her open her mouth and I fed it too her.
Afterwards I cuddled with her for a while.
"I wanna go to the store. You want something?" I said to Nique who was on my chest.
"Can you go later?" She weakly lifted her head.
"Yeah baby. Sure". I kissed her forehead and continued to play with her hair.
"I hate this shit fa you. I don't like seeing you in pain" I told Nique whilst playing in her hair.
She was halfway sleep.
"The pills working?"
She nodded with her eyes closed.
I pecked her face and continued rubbing on her then got up.
"Ima go to the store while you sleeping. I'ma be back before you up" I whispered to her then slid on my slides and left out.
I went to the grocery store grabbing some more soup for Nique, medicine, fruits and tonight's dinner.
