Chapter XXI

Sunoo's POV

There's no way I heard that right. "Wh-What did you just say?" I asked, reconfirming what he said. "Kim Sunoo! I like you very much!" Sunghoon letting all his feelings out. I couldn't believe it, it just seemed unfathomable. Who was I to get the attention of Sunghoon?

Sunghoon covered his face with his hands, "It was so hard to see you happy with somebody else. Every smile you give to him, every time you spent, I wished it could've been me instead. It killed me inside! I didn't even get to know what I did so wrong yet I still tried to apologize to you, but you were too busy with Yeonjun. I can understand now why, it's because he likes you."

He left the rooftop, abandoning me. I couldn't do anything to stop him. My body didn't let me. I didn't know what to say to his confession, I'm still undecided about my feelings. If what I feel for him is affection or infatuation. I fell on my knees, feeling like the weight of the world was crushing me. I wept, I was causing so much pain to Sunghoon.

Sunghoon's POV

Emotion overcame me. After telling Sunoo I like him, I couldn't handle being in the same place with him, it hurts me. I hadn't expected my confession to go like this. I left the campus and proceeded to go home. I need someone to talk to, keeping this all inside is making me crazy.

I called Heeseung to come over saying it's important. Not even 5 mins in, he was already here. He knew just what to bring, "Drink responsibly Sunghoon, I'll be here anyway to make sure you don't drink too much." I can't be sober for this.

I grabbed the booze from him, already having a shot. "What happened with you and Sunoo?" Heeseung casually asks like nothing's wrong. I choked up, "I-I confessed to him but... Yeonjun already confessed to him." I drank even more from my bottle. I then told him all the other details that happened today. Heeseung sighed, "Did he reject you though?" I tilted my head at him. Now that I'm thinking about it, he never did. I guess.

He spoke with his serious voice, "Sunghoon, both of you were extremely emotional today and may have said some things that both of you didn't mean. Talk with him again, a proper one. Just the two of you in a quiet place, clearing misunderstandings and really talk how you feel about each other. Your confession today is not valid, you need to show you like him. From how I see it, you just confessed because Yeonjun did it to him."

I listened to every word he said. I gulped down the bottle in one go. I couldn't say anything to Heeseung because he was right. He asked once again, "Does he... remind you of her? That's why you feel something for him?" I laughed bitterly, contemplating about what he said,

"No, the two are completely different. She broke my shell, but he gave me life."

The two of us just went silent afterward. We were looking at the scenery in the sky. A beautiful array of stars, shining brightly. Just like cutie except he's the sun. I was getting drowsy, Heeseung saw this and took the drink from my hand. He escorted me to my room and laid me down. He whispered, "Get some sleep Sunghoon. You need it." I closed my eyes and it was not long before I started to doze off.

"Stay happy for me Sunghoon." I was sitting by her side, sobbing.

"I like you, no I love you. Don't ever forget that."

"Thank You Sunghoon..."
