Chapter XXII

Sunoo's POV

"He likes you?!" Jungwon was shocked at what I said.

After Sunghoon's confession, there was nothing I could do so I just went home. The two were already home by then. They saw my eyes red and cheeks puffed, obviously from crying. The two didn't say anything and led me into the house. They made me change into comfortable clothing and made hot chocolate for the three of us.

Jungwon used his motherly voice, "Sunoo, are you okay?" I wasn't able to hold it in, the question made me break down. The two hugged me tightly without saying a word and we were like that for a while. When I finally calmed down, I start telling them the whole story. How Sunghoon professed his love to me.

Ni-ki finally commented, "Sunoo, what do you feel about him now that he confessed?" Once again, I was unable to find the answer to the question. "Ok let me ask you this, do you feel happy when you're with him? Does he make you feel safe? Is he constantly on your mind?" I nodded to all his questions.

"Sunoo, what you're experiencing right there is love."

He added, "Based on what you told us about him when he first brought you here, how he saved you one time from that pervert, how you acted around him when we were hanging out, it clearly showed that you like him. That you wanted to be with him. It must've felt like knives were stabbing your gut when you saw him with the girl right?"

How does he know all this? I could only nod again, feeling teary-eyed remembering the feeling whenever we were apart. How he looked happy with someone else. Ni-ki suddenly hugged me, "It's going to be ok Sunoo, you don't have to rush anything. Just know that we're here for you, ok?" Jungwon joined in. I felt blessed to have such friends in my life. I managed to say,

"Thank you, you two. I mean it." Soon enough, everyone was crying. However, I could feel we weren't crying because of sadness but of solace. Whenever one of us would be facing hardships, they wouldn't be alone in facing it.

Sunghoon, I finally have an answer for you.

The next day came and I told myself to finally talk to Sunghoon. That... That I like-

"Sunoo? Can we talk to you?" My thoughts were interrupted by Heeseung, along with Jay and Jake. No Sunghoon in sight though. I would've thought he was with them. "Heeseung? Why, what is it about?" He replied, "It's about Sunghoon."

Come to think of it, I haven't seen Sunghoon in school today. I asked him first, "Where's Sunghoon by the way? I haven't seen him yet." Heeseung responded, "He called in sick today, probably cause of... Never mind. He's ok though." That's a relief, I wonder why he's sick...

I got us back on topic, "Anyways, as you were saying. What about Sunghoon?" He sighed heavily, "Sunoo, you do know that Sunghoon cares deeply about you right?" I forced myself to nod, feeling kinda awkward about the topic. Heeseung continued to speak, "It's just that we're worried for Sunghoon. He's had some... past regarding relationships. Let's just say that relationships are a tricky thing for him. Please do go easy on him." He bowed, he really cares about his friends huh.

"Don't reject him too bad." Jake added, Heeseung and Jay nudged him at his comment. I just laughed at the three,

"Don't worry, there will be no rejection happening. I plan on taking good care of him once we're together."
