Chapter XXIV

Sunoo's POV

I was jamming out to the music I was listening to while I was reading, "Like a fever, fever, fever~" I was on the last page of the book. Turns out the book had a sad ending, the two had short-lived happiness. The female lead had terminal cancer. The male lead's heart was shattered, not able to do anything for his love. That's what doomed meant.

I was on the last line of the book, "I love you, Sunghoon." Sunghoon?! Why was his name here on the book? Before I could react to the ending, I was pulled back by someone. What happened after petrified me, Sunghoon was hit by a car. I saw Sunghoon lying on the road, lifeless. Blood was beginning to paint the road.

I screamed, "SUNGHOON!" I immediately called the ambulance. "Sunghoon! Sunghoon! Talk to me! You-You can't be-" The ambulance came quickly enough, they rushed at the scene, putting Sunghoon on a stretcher. The medic screamed, "Make way!"

I begged them, "Wait! Please let me come, I know this person." They allowed me to get on and the ambulance started accelerating. The medics were using all sorts of equipment on him. I couldn't stop crying, "Sunghoon, please wake up... I'm sorry it's all my fault. You need to wake up to accept my apology, please wake up already Hoonie!"

We arrived at the hospital in a flash and they took him away into an operating room. I wasn't allowed any further and my legs gave up. My body gave up but my heart and mind couldn't. I called Heeseung and the rest of Sunghoon's friends including mine. They were also fast to arrive at the hospital.

Heeseung looked anxious, "Sunoo, where is he? Where is he?! Is he ok?!" I was unable to answer him. He started sobbing, Jay and Jake tried to comfort him but they also weren't able to hold back their tears. I started to break down too with Jungwon and Ni-ki trying their best to comfort me once again. I can feel their hands also trembling as they held me. Park Sunghoon please wake up already, you're making everyone worried...

A few hours went by while we were waiting for the announcement of the doctor. Finally, a doctor came out, "Is any of you a family member of Sunghoon?" Heeseung was the one who answered, "His parents are out of the country due to work, I've been tasked by his parents to watch over him. Please let us see him." Heeseung's eyes were determined, and so the doctor gave in, "This way please."

We were then led to a room with Sunghoon lying covered in bandages. I covered my mouth and tried my best to suppress tears. Everyone walked in slowly with some sniffling, "We were able to stop the source of the bleeding. The problem is how he'll be once he wakes up. There's no assurance that he'll still be the same after he wakes up."

Heeseung walked up to one side of Sunghoon. He sat down and held his hand as he wept. I went on the other side, holding his hand too.

"Sunghoon... Hoonie... Stay strong for me, for all of us..."
