Chapter 4

Artemis

I start bombarding her with questions.

"How do you know them?"

"Why didn't you tell me?"

"Why are they going to live us?"

"Are they truly hot as seen online?"

"I'm not freaking out, am I? No, I'm not. Just that my potential business threats are going to live with us."

"Definitely not freaking out. Elli, I'm freaking out, right?"

I keep mumbling shit as I feel hands on me. I completely freeze in my place and look at the source of the hands while trying to keep my composer. I look up to see Elli trying not to laugh at me. "Very mature Elli," I say annoyed, slapping her hands away.

"Did you even listen to yourself? You had your crazy face. How could I not laugh?" She chuckles at me. I open my mouth just as Andre sits with his food, "what's so funny?"

"Nothing, absolutely nothing. Nothing!! Stop looking at me." I think I answered too quickly, as he raised his eyebrow.

At that Elli starts laughing at me, and I glare at her. Andre looks back and forth between Elli and me while shaking his head. I lower my head to look at my food and start eating it.

Of course, it won't be complete without my moan. I look up from my food to see every single student in the cafeteria looking at me. How did they all hear me? I shift uncomfortably, ducking my head as my face heat up from embarrassment. I hear snickers from Andre and Elli and sigh.

What an embarrassment! I silently eat the rest of my food until the bell ring. I throw the leftovers in the trash and exit the cafeteria. I trail behind Andre and Elli while they do cute couple shit. Suddenly, Andre's phone dings, he looks at his phone; and his face visibly paled.

I become alert, and Elli seems to be stressed. Elli hugs Andre as he hugs her back. He turns to me, "an emergency came up, I have to go, bye." He said hurriedly and walks to the entrance. He left us in the hall.

I raise my eyebrow and look at Elli. "Something happened to his mum; she's in the hospital." I gasp, his mum? "I hope everything will turn out fine. But we have a class to get to. Let's go, Elli."

We continue walking, and I look at Elli from time to time; she is not focused at all. Probably worry about Andre's mum. She went to her class, and I went to mine.

I have two more lessons before going home. This time it went quickly, as I already know the students and the professor. Before I even knew it, the day came to an end. I walk out of class and bump into something; I look up to see Elli. She still looks dazed, I wave my hand in front of her face. But she does not react, so I shake her. That seems to do the trick as she snaps out of it.

We get into my Jeep, heading towards the twins' school. I look over to Elli; she seems sad. I put my hand on her thigh in a comfort, "call Andre; you might feel better after hearing from him."

She did, and you can tell she's less stressed than before. I smile to myself, knowing I help my bestie feel a little better. The rest of the drive was peaceful and quiet. I came to a stop in the school driveway; waiting for my siblings and their friends. A few minutes pass, and the bell rings. A crowd of high school students floods the entrance.

I spot Ben and Mel in the crowd. They saw me and quickly came over. "Hi, so Andrea and Anna will follow us; since they came to school together," Mel says, and I nod at her. "So, how was the first day of school? Anyone interesting Mel?" I smirk at her flushed face.

"Ahh, will you look at that? Andrea says they are right behind us. You can drive Ari." I laugh at her for changing the subject. "We will talk later Mel. You can't escape from this."

"Fuck off," She grumbles and glares at me. She took the aux cable, connecting her phone to the car. She puts 7 rings by Ariana Grande. We all start singing together. I take a peep at my brother and sister through the mirror; I smile. Just thinking of the possibility of someone hurting them, I become enraged.

"Why do you look like a constipating puppy?" Ben looks directly at me through the mirror, I loudly gasp. "You take that back!" I narrow my eyes on him, and he has the audacity to laugh at me. Mel and Elli look at each other before joining Ben. I pout but then smile, enjoying the peace and happiness.

After fifteen minutes drive, we arrive. I guess Ben and Mel didn't notice I stop driving; since they keep bickering. "Idiots, we are here."

They finally stop and look at me. They shift to the view behind me and gasp. "Woah, this place is amazing." Elli and I chuckle at their response. We already saw the place when we signed the lease. Elli opens the glove compartment and takes out the remote controller. So, I could drive to my parking spot. I see Andrea's car just behind me. I get out of the car, and the rest follow me. "You can park next to me."

Andrea parks the car and gets out with Anna. I lead them to the lobby and stroll to the guards. "Those are my siblings and their friends. They can go up to the penthouse as they will." The guard in front of me wrote something on his phone as he nods to the others.

I lead them to the lift; I scan my fingerprint, and the doors open for us. "Woah, that's so cool," Anna says. We ride the lift to the 30th floor and exit. I take out my key and open the first door. I wanted to be extra careful with security, and Elli said it was not a problem.

This little room is equipped with two scanners and one computer. "Put your hand on the fingerprint scanner. This will give you access to the lift and doors and our penthouse." Each one of them did expect Elli, and I entered the date on the computer.

Once everything was done, I scan my eye on the second scanner. It gives me direct control of the penthouse. I flash out my phone and shut the lights off. "Are you ready?" I hear a choir of yeses, and I open the door for them. I turn the light on and they are all in shock.
