"Elli, get us out of here!" Sky yells fearfully. Elli listened to the two wolves talking with each other while she chatted with Ari. She jumps when Sky yells.
"I heard your little chat. There is no way in hell we are leaving; this is a hospital. Do you think we can just leave?! I am not leaving with Artemis in this state; she needs medical attention." She fires back at her. Artemis's condition is delicate. Anything could tip her over the edge. Elli's angry at Sky for demanding such things.
"Human, did you listen? Get her out of here!" Sheesh, what the hell? Elli says to herself. "Sky, I told you this isn't going to happen. There are too many risks I am not going to take."She shouts at Sky. She vividly remembers Artemis's last time in the hospital.
Taking her out of the hospital means putting her in harm's way.
"Elli, listen to me and listen to me good. I know you are worried; I am too. Heck, I'm her wolf. If she stays at this hospital, she's going to get hurt, badly. You know how strong I am. I am speaking to you, something no other wolf can do, but me."
Is this really happening? A wolf who has no family relationship with Elli nor is her mate is talking to her. This is unheard of. All communication with Nyx has been so far through Sky.
"Nyx, I don't know how you do it, but why is it dangerous? She needs to be here. If I am going to take her to the pack, I need a good reason for it." Elli says to her, hoping to get some answers.
"Elli, what's is going on?" Artemis asks sickly. Her face is pale like she's about to pass out. Elli is getting more anxious by the second. She has a horrified expression. Her heart is about to jump out of her ribcage.
"FOR THE LOVE OF GODDESS, ELLI! GET HER OUT! SOMEONE IS COMING, AND SHE NEEDS A PACK DOCTOR!" Nyx screams at Elli, making her jump into action. "Elli?" Artemis says just as her head falls back from weakness.
Elli dials Veronica, as her alphas are on their way to bring her food.
"Alphas, we must get Artemis out of here. She's in danger. We need to take her to the packhouse. Don't ask. Just, trust me, we need to move, fast." She doesn't even let them answer as she hangs up.
Elli's neck hairs stand up. How didn't she notice it before? You can feel in the air. Not only Artemis is in danger now. If they found out she's a princess, it will compromise her dad's life. Her mum's location. Elli knows why her mother isn't in her life. She blames herself that her father is without a mate.
Her dad suffered enough; she doesn't want it to happen to Andre as well.
"Elli' we are waiting for you in the parking lot, but for goddess sake, what's going on?" Dean asks me. "I told you not to ask questions. I will tell you everything in the car!" I replay back angrily. For an alpha, he can be an idiot.
With Artemis leaning on Elli, she exits the room. She tries to smell for any human near her, but there are too many chemicals in the air. Which makes it difficult to detect any troubles heading her way.
Elli heads towards the stairs when she notices the nurse from before, going in the direction of Ari's room. However, the doctor she's with is not Artemis's doctor. It seems like they are having an important discussion.
Elli increases her speed, trying to avoid the hospital staff.
Just as she reaches the door, a nurse stops her. "Where are you going with her? Are you authorized to leave the hospital?" Elli smells her, trying to figure out if she can get out of this supernaturally. To her happiness, the nurse is a vampire. "I know you're a vampire; I need to get her to my pack doctor. A human one wouldn't know how to treat her." She whispers to the nurse.
The nurse's eyes widen in surprise. She nods at Elli and walks back to her job. Letting out a sigh of relief, Elli continues on her journey.
She switches Ari's position, from leaning on her shoulder to a bridal style. Carefully, she rushes down the stairs. Artemis is safe in her arms.
Artemis seems in and out, she's not doing well. She needs a doctor, immediately.
"Nyx, wake her up. She can't lose consciousness before we reach the packhouse." Elli keeps descending down as she speaks to Nyx. As they are about to reach level two, Elli hears one of the doors above them open. She stops walking, not wanting to make her presence known.
"Search the entire hospital! I want every floor swapped clean. Find her, NOW!" A strange voice shouts.
Closing her eyes, Elli focuses on her surrounding. Trying to figure out which floor they are on, and how fast will they catch her. She listens to the voice that yells at the other to spread across the hospital. She believes they are on floor 8, which is the floor they came from.
The commanding voice belongs to a man, who for sure smokes at least pack a day. Elli makes a mental note to herself.
He keeps ordering them, and as quiet as she possibly can, Elli continue to go down to the parking lot. Where the alphas are waiting for her.
Ari starts moving her head. Elli notices this, and fear creeps up. She's afraid Artemis will open her eyes and say something that would expose their location. Elli breathes in relief as Artemis stays quiet.
Finally, she reaches the parking lot. Elli opens the door and it makes noises. She halts in fear of being discovered, and her fears come true. "I hear something down, go there and report back." The unknown man commands them. "what are you waiting for? Get down there, don't make me repeat myself, idiots." He yells.
Elli bolts through the door, hoping the alphas are near the exit. "We will be ok. I will protect you, no matter what, Ari." Elli says to herself.
She searches for their car when she hears the door open.
