Third
"I miss her too, but I know she would be happy just to know we are safe and sound. I know you miss her, dad, I'm sure she does too. Just a little more and we will see her; I promise you! I can feel her coming to us." Elli says as she wipes away his tears.
She hugs him one last time before she talks. "Dad, I'm sorry to change the subject, but we need to talk about Ari."
Just as she speaks, the alphas appear. "How is she?" Deans asks with concern written all over his face.
"No, I fell at the entrance with her in my arms, and her forehead started to bleed." Victoria looks at Dean with worry. Neither of them understands why they care so much. Elli turns to her father and the alphas. "Let's take this to my room. I don't want to risk someone listening to us." She says as she leads them away from Artemis and any prying ear.
They walk to her room and enter. Elli locks the door, making sure the windows are shut as well. As they live in the packhouse, every room is soundproof. No one wants to listen to free porn. Just imagine if you're next to your parents' room, disgusting!
Elli motions for them to sit wherever they want. She has the biggest room for teens after the alphas. Perks of being the beta's daughter.
Elli feels as if she forgot something. As if the universe heard her, someone knocks on the door. "Andre!" Elli remembers and quickly rushes to the door to open it.
"Good, now that everyone is here, we can begin." Andre sits next to Elli as he greets her father. Much to Gray's disappointment, he doesn't want Elli to grow up.
Elli communicates with her father through their link.
"It's time we tell them. We have kept it a secret for a long time, and something is going on with the alphas. I know it's related to Ari; they deserve to know. Andre out of them all, he will hate me." Elli says, leaving no room to argue.
Gray hesitates, he knows his daughter hasn't marked Andre for this reason. He knows damn well how it's like to be without your mate. Closing his eyes, he asks Regal if he agrees; to which the wolf nods.
Taking a big breath, Elli begins to talk.
"Artemis is a wolf, but she herself, doesn't know that. Her wolf Nyx is powerful, she hasn't shifted yet. Nor does she have a regular relationship with Artemis." She pauses, letting them digest the information so far.
"What?" Dean asks confused and surprised.
"What? How the hell?..." victoria frowns.
Nothing could have prepared them for it. They knew Ari was not human, but getting the confirmation shocked them.
"That's not all..." Elli says, afraid of what is going to come. Ashamed of herself for hiding it from her mate. "I...I'm a silver wolf." Her voice is nothing but a whisper in the air. She keeps her head down, not daring to look at Andre's reaction.
She lied to him; she kept her identity hiding. She knew once he marked her, he will know. But she was scared for her mum, for herself. She kept the mask on. Most of the pack thinks she's a runt. That her wolf is so weak, she can't shift.
But none of it is the truth. Elli is a princess as her mother is. Her uncle is the king of werewolves, but her mother and uncle went into hiding. To this day, no one knows why.
Elli is shaking; she knows what she did is wrong. But will he reject her, now that he knows the truth? She can feel his sadness through the bond that had started to form from the moment they met.
"Mate loves us, don't say it; he will never reject us. Yes, he will be upset we didn't tell him but he won't reject us". Sky growls at Elli, but she can hear her whimper at the end. She is afraid too.
Gray's eyes are glued to his daughter's anxious body. He prays everything will turn out fine.
"This is why the first time we met your wolf didn't submit?" Andre speaks for the first time. Embarrassing Elli in fort her father and alphas. Her face is red as a tomato.
Since beta is second to alpha, the one with the beta blood submits to the higher blood rank. As a result of her royal blood, Elli didn't submit. This is a sacred thing for mates. Even if she was royal beta blood, her alphas just heard she didn't submit.
Her father couldn't help but laugh. "DAD, ANDRE!" Even the alphas let out a chuckle.
"Shhh, Andre! Say one more thing of our first meeting, I dare you." Elli says as she stares at Andre. Her face is still red. Andre gulps before laughing awkwardly.
"Back to business?" Elli asks as she raises her brow at Andre, who nods quickly.
"So, let me get this straight. Artemis isn't aware a werewolf; you are a princess and your father was supposed to be the second royal beta?" Victoria asks and is out of breath by the end. She's irradiated with the whole situation. Not to mention the unknown feeling she has for Artemis.
Things are starting to get difficult; Dean thinks for himself.
"The doctor has finished, we should get back," Gray says firmly as he got the message. Before he even finishes the sentence, Elli is already out of the room.
The bond she has with Ari is nothing like he ever saw. He can feel it. He also feels some sort of a connection to Artemis, the woman who looks similar to his mate.
At the thought of his mate, his shoulders drop. He can't wait to see her. To hold her and never let go. The doctor cuts his line of thoughts.
"She has a concussion, and her physical state is getting better. But something blocks her healing. I hope that by tomorrow she will be better. I had to sedate her duo to her state; she should wake up in a few hours." The doctor says and bids a goodbye to the beta.
Happy Purim to all my Jewish readers!!
