Artemis
I gave control to Nyx, this is her body, and she knows better how to handle it.
She dashes through the woods, only one goal in her mind, to make sure Dean is ok and kill whoever hurt him. Her snout is up, tracking his scent. Her heart is pumping with adrenaline and anger. Yet, she's scared, not that I blame her.
Within minutes we are standing on the battlefield. Dead bodies are everywhere, mainly rogues. My heart goes out to the families of the deceased. I look around, searching with my eyes for the one my heart wants.
Nyx whines in my head. Too much blood in the air it's overwhelming her senses. "Get on a tree; maybe we will find him that way," I say. She does as I say, and we look down. Right in the middle, surrounded by pack wolves, is Dean.
Nyx growls lowly. She jumps from the tree, landing 150 meters away from Dean. She wastes no time in running towards him, snarling viciously. She tears rogues one by one, not paying attention if they are actually dead.
I noticed that I am way larger than the other wolves. Like two wolves stack one on top of each other. While no one paid attention, a rogue managed to slip inside the circle of wolves. Just before she reaches Dean, Nyx jumps on her back.
They roll, and the rogue tried to get rid of us. Nyx claps her jaws on the rogue's neck, successfully breaking it. She goes to Dean; whimpers leave her mouth as he is injured. He has a gush in his lower stomach, a gruesome sight. Nyx licks the wound but jerks back as a stinging feeling struck her tongue.
"Wolfsbane!" She snrales darkly. I could feel the rage swimming in her blood, slowly taking control of her senses. A black aura starts to radiate from us as she slowly stalks Dean's unconscious body.
The wolves around notice us and stop fighting. The rogues stop too, and stare at us. Nyx snarls at them and slaps her paw against the earth. Suddenly, the ground shakes, and a quake hit the areas in which the rogues are standing.
The pack wolves take a step back and towards us. Slowly they kneel and bow to me. I am so confused right now, but Nyx held her head high.
"Well, well, well, what do we have here?" A man in a clock appears near the rogues. I can feel the dark magic he emits. He is practising kesem, the old witchcraft. I don't even know how I know it.
"Kesem is the equivalent of the old religion in Merlin. The one Morgana and the high priests used. The magic of the Gods. Powerful yet dangerous, in hands like his, it's used for havoc. In our hands, for our people. We are a universe wolf! Destined for greatness; the saviour of our world." Nyx speaks proudly, power running through her veins.
"What a surprise, a universe wolf, a female at that. Pathetic!" He smirks, thinking he has the upper hand. I fist my hand, and I can feel Nyx's anger. Pathetic? Me? What a joke. I got myself out of the mud. I accepted that I am not a human on my own. I worked on myself. I fought and still fight. I am a force to be reckoned with!
The last thing I am is pathetic!
Without even noticing, I shifted back and was right in front of the warlock. I can feel his magic essence, entwined with his soul. "I wonder how it will be to lose your essence of magic. To be something you despised all of your low and miserable life." I give him my best cold yet innocent look I could master. I can already feel myself grasping his essence.
He laughed a full-on belly laugh. He smirks at me. "That is nothing but a th-" I rip his essence before he finishes his sentence. Sneering I say, "you were saying?" I crush it with my hand as he falls to the ground. Looking deep into the forest, I smile sweetly, "who's next?"
In seconds the rogues run for their lives. "Kill whoever you can! You two, take the alpha to the packhouse, quickly. He was poisoned.
The wind blows, and I suddenly become aware of my naked state. My scars...They all saw them, oh god! I try to cover my private areas with my hands just as a wolf approaches me. "It alpha, Lydia," Nyx says.
She shifts, and I look away. I am not used to naked people. "Here, take this. You can go. I will finish here." She hands me a t-dress. I say thank you as I quickly dress. My eyes harden as I look over to the warlock and my anger spikes. "Keep him somewhere for me; I have not finished yet."
"Go to mate!" Nyx growls in my mind. Alpha Lydia nods at me, and I hurriedly leave.
"Would you be so kind telling me why didn't you mention I am a 'special wolf'?" I ask. Irritation is obvious in my tone. "Well, I... For the record, Diana is not a universe wolf." Nyx says timidly. "Who's Diana...Fuck you, Nyx! Don't change the subject! Explain to me, how I know the types of magic? How did I fucking rip a warlock's essence AND CRUSHED IT?" I seethe. I have been in the dark about myself for too long; it's time to fucking change it.
"As I said before, we are a universe wolf. We are much stronger than a normal wolf, heck, we are more powerful than a leto and a royal wolf. We are a creature made out of kesem. Every fibre of our body is laced with it. Unlike any other wolves, universe wolves are not made out of lost souls. We are new souls created by our goddess." She speaks with her head held high.
"You have a purpose in life; you are made to protect the supernatural world." Another voice says. I know that voice, it's from one of my many void trips. "Diana..." I stop dead in my tracks; I have two voices in my head. WTF?!
A scream ripples through the woods, and I immediately know it belongs to Dean. I run to the packhouse, worry consuming my every thought.
I arrive at the packhouse; following his scent, I go up the stairs. Fear dancing on my heart, making it beat out of control. I open the door, and the stench of blood overpowers his alluring scent.
I rush to the bed and take his hand in mine. Sparks travel across my hand; he opens his eyes and looks at me. He smiles and closes his eyes once back. Without looking at the doctor, I ask, "how is he?" I gently caress his face and smile sadly.
"I guess you are his mate; he will be ok. The worst is over. The wolfsbane had reached his bloodstream, but they brought him just in time. I put him on infusion to get it out. He will be awake in a few hours, completely healed." She is proud of her job, and I smile in relief.
"I am going to treat the injured. If you need anything, I will be in the infirmary." She opens the door, and I thank her.

I am not a native English speaker as I said in the beginning. My native tongue is Hebrew, and I want aspects of it in my book. Kesem is the magic word in Hebrew. I wanted a unique name for the old magic in my book; many more Hebrew words will appear in the book.
