Chapter XII: The Last Kiss On Your Lips

[Adrien's POV]

My first college party. While I was nervous about it, a part of me was also a bit excited about it. I wanted to experience every aspect of college that I could, and parties were one of them. I was also looking forward to spending time with Luka and my roommates, and just overall having a good time together and forgetting about the stresses of university for the night.

I still couldn't ignore the part of me that was anxious about it though. The last time I was at a party, things didn't end too well because of Carter and Marci. Though, I kept telling myself that I was at a new point in my life. I was at art school, with new friends, and a new environment. Carter and Marci weren't here. This wasn't high school.

"We're going to have so much fun," Luella gushed in the back seat of Karsten's car, "Our first college party! I wonder how many cute kings are going to be there?"

"I'm sure there is going to be plenty of kings there for you to drool over Lu," Faryn commented from beside her, a hint of teasing in their tone. Luella scoffed at them.

"Listen, I'm gonna find someone for you to drool over, and then I'll be able to tell you I told you so."

Faryn rolled their eyes and laughed. Karsten and I laughed along with them from the front seat.

"Thank god I already have a boyfriend, cause I'd rather not have Lu be my wingman," Karsten replied.

"Hey!" Luella exclaimed, "I happen to be a very good wingman!"

"Right, I'm sure you're an excellent wingman," I cut in, smiling at her over the back of my seat.

"Ugh, you guys are so mean," Luella whined, slumping back in her seat with her arms crossed and a pout on her lips, "remind me why I love you guys again?"

Karsten, Faryn, and I laughed. We eventually arrived at the party location, a large suburban house in the middle of a random neighbourhood. As Karsten parked the car along the side of the road, I could already hear the pounding music from inside the house. We left our coats in the car and then the four of us got out of the car, walked a short walk down to the house, and headed inside.

God, the house was already packed with people, and it was only ten at night. How was I supposed to find Luka in a crowd like this?

I pulled out my phone, sending a quick text message to Luka that said: We just arrived at the party. Where are you?

"Let's go to the kitchen and grab ourselves some drinks!" Luella spoke up, linking arms with Faryn. Karsten and I agreed and started pushing through the large crowd of people, looking around for the kitchen. Meanwhile, my phone vibrated in my pocket, and I pulled it out to look at the message on my phone.

Luka: I'm chilling in the dining room with my buds. They're playing some beer pong. Where are you?

Adrien: Heading to the kitchen for some drinks. We can meet you in the dining room after we're done?

Luka: Yeah, sounds good! I'll be here :)

Luka: Btw, I can't wait to see you.

A light blush stained my cheeks. He couldn't wait to see me? What did he mean by that? Was that a flirt? Or was he just being friendly? I couldn't tell. My roommates like to think that Luka likes me and refuse to believe otherwise, but I just wasn't so sure. If he did like me, wouldn't we have already talked about the kiss that almost happened between us? Wouldn't he have said anything by now?
