Giving Thor a quick peck on the cheek, I walked away with Sif to prepare for our departure. Sif already had her armor on, but I still needed to change. Once we made it to our armory room, I used my magic to change into my armor. My long-sleeve tunic was from the finest black Asgardian leather, along with my pants. A soft lavender lining ran along the sleeves of my tunic and at the neckline per my request. The leather corset was plated with the strongest metal created by the royal blacksmith. Leather arm-length gloves that had metal plating to protect my elbow and forearm. My thigh-high boots also had built-in greaves and a hidden holster for a few daggers.
I put on my lavender cloak, slipping my arms into the arm holes. I looked over at Sif, whose hair was tied up in a bun, and slipped on her overcoat to keep herself warm at Jotunheim.
"How do you feel about all of this?" Sif asked me. She began to check that my armor was fitted and tight enough. It was something we always did before we went into battle. "I wish there was a way you could've convinced him otherwise."
"You know how Thor is," I said, stopping her hands. "There are days where I can convince and days where I cannot. Unfortunately for all of us, this was a day when I couldn't. The best thing we can do right now is to make sure he doesn't do anything stupid."
Sif raised an eyebrow at me.
Grimacing, I scoffed, "Oh, Sif, he can't do anything more ridiculous than this."
"Have you not met Thor?"
"Give him the benefit of the doubt." I began to check her armor. "Thor has gotten us out of tough situations before. He never abandoned us when hope seemed lost. He's a fine warrior and a great leader. Discovering the truth will bring us all at ease."
"Are you just saying that to be on your fiancé's side or do you truly mean that, Ravenna? As much as I hate to say it, you tend to disagree with Thor, but then change your morals and beliefs for him. I know you love him, but you need to remember that you come first before him."
"Sif, I can assure you that isn't the case. I'm not happy with this, but the safety of Asgard is in the air. I can't let our people fear that the Frost Giants will attack at any moment. We are only going to Jotunheim for answers. Our weapons are just a precaution's sake. We better go. They're probably waiting for us."
We met up with the others at the palace grounds. Thor smiled at me, placed his arm over my shoulders, and kissed the top of my head as we make our way over to the attendants that had our battle gear ready for our journey.
My sword and daggers were forged by none other than the dwarves of Nidavellir. They were the greatest forges in all the Non Realms. It was an honor to have weapons built by them. I even created a spell that would conjure them back to me if I ever needed to throw them. I secured my scabbard to my belt and slid one dagger into each boot. Four more daggers were secured to a thigh holster that connected to my belt.
Thor looked ahead. "First, we must find a way to get past Heimdall."
"That won't be an easy task. It's said the Gatekeeper can see a single dew drop fall from a blade of grass a thousand worlds away," Volstagg informed us, causing Thor and Fandral to chuckle at Volstagg.
Fandral smirked, saying in a mocking tone, "And he can hear a cricket passing gas in Niffelheim."
"Jest not! He hearth all!" Volstagg warned him.
"Oh, please, getting past him should be simple enough now. Since he seems to be letting Frost Giants sneak by under his nose," Fandral sneered as we walked away to our horses.
Volstagg looked up at the sky in panic. "Forgive him! He meant no offense!"
I stopped a moment, noticing that Loki walked away to talk to one of the guards. Even Hogan noticed what Loki was doing. I turned to Hogan and gestured for him to follow the others while I figured out what Loki was up to. Loki turned away from the soldier and moved next to me.
