I snuggled closer to my pillow, feeling the pulsing headache slowly waking me up. I let out a soft groan as the headache became worse, causing me to open my eyes. I squinted at the bright light, not understanding why my room seemed so bright. I rubbed my eyes and pulled away, trying to focus, but dread washed over me as I realized where I was.
And it was certainly not my bed chamber.
"Ah, she's finally awake."
I winced at the voice, dreading to turn around. Closing my eyes, I turned around and opened my eyes to Loki sitting down on a chair with his feet propped up on the ottoman. A wide grin was plastered on his face as he stared at me, waiting to see who would break away from the stare— who'd be the first to speak.
Knowing that he could do this for hours, I gave in first. I looked down to see that I was wearing the green corset that...I stared back at Loki, "What happened last night?" I looked around, unsure if my concealment spell was still working.
"Your concealment wore off. I took the liberty of putting another concealment, along with an illusion of me just calmly reading. No one knows you're here."
"And how am I supposed to get out of here?"
"Not my problem," Loki chuckled.
"What happened last night?"
"What do you remember?"
Groaning, I wrapped the blanket around me. "Loki, I'm having a terrible headache right now. Please, stop playing games with me and just tell me."
Sighing, Loki set his book down. "You came into my cell drunk and tried seducing me. We kissed, but unfortunately, you passed out before we could do anything. You snored all night while I slept in an uncomfortable unfulfilled disposition last night."
I frowned at him. "I don't understand. Are you saying we didn't..."
He leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees. His brows furrowed. "Ravenna, if we actually did something last night, don't you think you would wake up in a much happier mood than this? You'd be glowing the same way you woke up the first time we made love," Loki replied. "However, before you snored the Nine Realms awake, you were making rather explicit sounds. And I was curious as to what was making you sing those little notes, so I decided to take a peek inside your mind."
My eyes widened. "You read my mind?!"
Loki shrugged, "You truly are a little minx. I must say that is a very detailed dream. Is that one of your fantasies, Darling? Because if it is, then we can easily-"
"No!" I stood up, glaring at him. I noticed his eyes moved from my face down to my body. Quickly, I grabbed the blanket again to cover myself up. "Don't get any ideas!"
"Oh, what I saw last night gave me plenty of ideas."
"Ugh, Loki, you're despicable."
"I beg your pardon?" Loki stood up. "You're the one who visited me in my cell last night in desperate heat. And the fact you are mad at me for an action you did by your own choice is despicable. But why should I expect anything better? After all, that's what everyone enjoys doing, right? Blame the God of Mischief for everything."
I gaped at him. "What?"
Loki shrugged, "It wouldn't be the first time someone tried to use me to get through to their agenda. Everyone wants to blame the God of Mischief for everything. 'Oh, it's raining outside', 'Well, that's certainly Loki's fault.' 'How did the Frost Giants get into Asgard?' 'Why, Loki, of course.' It's always my fault."
"It was your fault for the Frost Giants invading Asgard."
"True, but that's not the point I'm trying to make."
