Loki and I have been working together to take care of Asgard for one week. My father and even Eisa were thrilled that I accepted such a responsibility. It was more thrilling for me because I didn't have time to see them. If they requested to see me, I would simply tell Halle that I was too busy taking care of Asgard. Eventually, they stopped asking me to visit. Still, the responsibility as Queen wasn't an easy task. I enjoyed being busy and having something to do every morning. I was glad that Loki and I were working together. We listened to each other's opinions, putting our thoughts into consideration before we came up with a decision. I truly felt like he believed my insight was just as important as his.
"We must schedule a day where we walk amongst the people," I informed Loki.
Every morning, Loki and I would meet with each other in the secret library within the castle. It served as an archive room that had valuable information about Asgard and its history. Very few were permitted to go into that room due to its sacred privacy, but since Loki and I had the title of King and Queen, we were permitted to enter this room whenever necessary to us.
"The people know of Thor and only saw him as a suitable leader, but now that you have the power as King, you should gain their respect. Show them that they will be safe in their hands."
"How should I do that?"
"Well, only a handful know the true you, Loki. Perhaps, there's a way for you to show the people who you are or at least give them a glimpse of it. I helped the orphans, helped feed the less fortunate. We can start there if you wish."
"I have been working on my magic to create fireworks. That will excite the children."
I smiled at him, "That sounds wonderful."
"Honestly, the people of Asgard already love you. I'm sure they will trust me only because you do."
I walked up to him, squeezing his arm. "They'll love you. Don't doubt yourself. You need to step out into the shadows and embrace the sunlight. It's your turn." Loki's green eyes softened as he stared at me longingly. "It's your turn to show Asgard who Loki Odinson is and how great he truly is."
We were nearly inches from each other. This was the closest I'd ever been to him. The scent of leather and spiced citrus invaded my nostrils, clouding my senses. My thoughts ran wild the longer his moss-colored eyes gazed upon me. A breath escaped from my lips when I felt his fingers glide hesitantly along my cheek as my heart quickened like a wild horse running freely.
I broke contact with him, turning away. My body felt warm, my knees were close to buckling over. "I'll arrange it with the guards. I'll try having it arranged for tomorrow night or even the following."
"Ravenna," Loki held onto my hand. I looked up at him. His lips moved to speak, but there was a knock on the door.
I cleared my throat and moved away from Loki. "Enter," I announced.
A guard opened the door. "Forgive the intrusion, but the King's presence is needed in the Hall of Asgard. The Warriors Three and Lady Sif are asking."
"Thank you, he will be there right away." I looked at Loki as the guard turned away. "I wonder what they want."
"I'm not sure. Come with me. I have a feeling they won't be comfortable speaking their problems just to me."
"Loki, they're your friends."
"More of Thor's friends," Loki sighed. "Will you accompany me?"
"Of course," I nodded.
Loki held out his arm for me to take as we walked together to the great hall. Loki conjured his horned helmet on his head and held Gungnir in his left hand. Loki took his place on the throne while I stayed by his side. "I think I should make my first command should be to have another throne made for the Queen of Asgard."
