Aliyah P.O.V.
"Goodmorning babygirl." I pushed my messy hair out of my face, as I pulled out my chair and took a seat at the kitchen table. "Morning." I said lowly. "How'd you sleep?" Daddy asked me, as he threw the kitchen towel over his bare shoulder.
"Fine..I guess." He nodded. "Ight, Im makin blueberry panacakes, how many you want?" I scrunched my face up as I looked over at him. "Your cooking breakfast?...where's mama?" He slightly cleared his throat.
"Oh, uh she's in her yoga room, she wasn't up for cookin this mornin, so Im doing it." I slightly frowned. The only time mama ever did yoga was when she was stressed out, pissed off or upset about something. And after what happened last night, I wasn't even suprised that she was in there.
"It's like 10am, how long she been in there?" AJ asked, leaning back into his seat. "She woke up around 7, and she's been in there since." AJ sighed. "Damn....is she gon come out and eat with us?" Daddy shook his head. "Nah, she already told me she ain't hungry, so it's just gon be the three of us this morning." He turned back to the stove and continued cooking.
"You know this yo fault right?" AJ said lowly so Daddy couldn't hear him. I quickly turned my head around and frowned. "My fault? How is this my fault?" He sucked his teeth.
"You know damn well mama only be doing that yoga shit when she's going through something, stop actin like you ain't the reason why she done locked herself up away from us." My frown deepend.
"Okay, how am I the reason for any of this?" I said lowly. "I didn't tell her to go lock herself in her yoga room, or not to eat breakfast with us, she chose to do that on her own." He shook his head.
"Yeah, but that's probably because she's embarrased that all her dirty laundry got exposed infront of us and random ass people, and it didn't help for yo ass to react the way you did yesterday either."
"How do you know how I reacted?" "I was listening from the stairs, you kept cuttin her off, not lettin her explain shit, you really fucked up for that." He leaned back, taking a sip from his glass.
"What was their to explain?" I started. "How would you feel if you found out you were never wanted, or that your mom wasn't the person you thought she was? It's alot to digest." He shook his head.
"It is, but shit you ain't gotta act like that, she was already hella embarrased Li." I sighed. "Well that's not my fault, I wasn't the one that exposed her."
"You weren't, but you could go down to the yoga room and talk to her, she's probably only hidin out cause she knows you feel a type of way about her now."
I sighed again. "No thanks, Im good." AJ opened his mouth to speak, but the sound of daddy's voice stopped him.
"Alright, y'all food is done." He turned away from the stove, dropping two panacakes on AJ's and I plates. "I made y'all some eggs and bacon too." He spoke proudly. He grabbed another pan, scraping some scrambled eggs on my plate as well as AJ.
"What the fuck that is?" AJ asked, staring at the plate of the suppose to be bacon. "Aye watch yo mouth boy, and don't act like you can't see that it's bacon." AJ shook his head. "Nah, I ain't never ate no bacon that looked like that.
I looked over at the plate and chuckled once I seen all the burnt pieces of bacon laying on the paper towel.
"What's wrong with it? It's just a little crisp that's all." I chuckled again. "It's more than crisp daddy." He sucked his teeth. "I know I can't make it like y'all mama but this gon have to do for today, so eat it, don't be wastin my money." He sat the plate down the table, and turned back to the stove to make his plate.
