"Are you sure you wanna do this?" I looked down at the cash in my hands, nodding my head. "Yeah Im sure.....how much you think I can get for it?"
"The truck itself is old, but since it's been updated like this, I think you can probably get atleast $1,000 for it."
I took a sigh of relief, nodding my head. "Ight, Ima need my truck to get around for the rest of the week, and I need to think of a excuse to give to my mama, but I'll be back by Friday evening to sell it, you sure I can get $1,000 for it?."
He nodded. "Yeah, Im pretty sure, but, here's my business card, I look forward to see you Friday."
"Yeah, ight, thanks." I shook his hand, watching him walk back inside.
Ever since last week, I've been trying my best to get this money together. So far, after borrowing money and selling things, I was only a little over $2,000 and my time was running out.
I was just hoping that I could some how give Cordarius the money I made so far on Friday, and work on getting the rest.
I took a deep breath, rolling up the cash I had made so far, and stuck it in my back pocket.
I walked back over to my truck, climbing inside. The last thing I waned to do was sell this truck, but it seemed like my options were very few with the time dwindiling down.
I started up my truck, just about to pull off, when my phone started vibrating in the passenger seat.
I sighed, quickly grabbing it, to see Chris calling me. I leaned back into my seat and took a deep breath, before answering the phone.
ME: "Wassup?"
CHRIS: "Where you at? We bouta slid to the hookah bar down on 12th street."
I frowned a little.
ME: "Who?"
CHRIS: "Me and Will, we're meetin Brittany and Mariah down there, I was tryna see if you and Aliyah wanted to slide."
I scratched the back of my head, taking a deep breath.
ME: "Uh....nah, um, I gotta watch Bria tonight, since my mama's working the night shift, and Aliyah's prom dress shoppin with her mama."
CHRIS: "Damn ight.....but where was you this morning? we ha a sub second hour, so it was turnt."
I slightly chuckled.
ME: " I had some shit to do, nothin major."
CHRIS: "You always got "some shit to to do" you been hella ghost since last week."
ME: "I know."
I mumbled.
ME: "But look, y'all go do y'all and I'll fuck with y'all in the morning."
He sighed.
CHRIS: "......Ight."
I hung up the phone, tossing it back over in the passenger seat.

"So how was your date yesterday?" I dropped my bag on mama's bed, taking a seat.
"I told you it wasn't a date, it was just drinks." I chuckled, laying back on her mattress.
"Okay, well how was it then?"
She sighed. "Horrible."
"He had no conversation, and overall, he was just really boring, and to top it off, he barely paid any attention to me." She held onto the side of the bed, slipping her heels on.
