"Baby Im gone for the day, keep everything in order for me." I nodded, watching mama pull her keys out her purse.
"Auntee Kerri will be here a little later to drop something off for me, put it in the top draw of my office alright?" I nodded again. "Okay mama." She softly smiled.
"Okay, love you." She flipped her long hair over her shoulder and kissed me on the forehead before leaving.
I sighed, looking back down at the magazine I was reading.
The last place I wanted to be today was here at the shop. Since Marcus and I were still on bad terms, it felt way to awkward to be around him, and now that mama was gone, and we were the last two people here for the evening, I knew it as gunna get even more awkward between us.
The chimes on the door went off, causing me to look up from my magazine. I sat up straight and softly frowned once I seen Cordarius stepping inside.
"Damn Aliyah, I ain't know yo mama was that fine." He smirked, walking over to the couch I was sitting on.
"She always dress like that?" He asked, referring to the crop top and jeans she was wearing. "Yeah, pretty much....what are you doing here?"
I sat my magazine down on the table, waiting for him to answer. He took a seat on the arm of the couch and turned to me.
"Cause I wanted to see you, and I remember you tellin me this morning how you help ya moms out after school."
I nodded slowly. "Oh okay...what's up? What did you need to see me for?" He chuckled.
"I need a reason? What if I just wanted to see you?" I slightly smiled. "You just saw me in school today, and Saturday at my brother's party."
He shrugged. "I know, but nah, I actually just came to check up on you." I slightly turned toward him and lifted a brow.
"For?"
"I know that nigga Marcus is here, and I was just makin sure you was good, since he was actin like a lil bitch last time." I sighed.
"Im fine Cordarius, and can you not be so loud? He's right in the back." I said, looking over my shoulder.
"I don't give a damn." He started. "He needs to hear me, he's a lil bitch boy and I'll tell him that shit to his face." I sighed. "Can you stop, please?"
He sighed, nodding. "Ight fine.....but you sure you good?" I nodded. "Yeah Im sure."
"You've been taking my advice?" I slightly smiled when he asked me that. Ever since Saturday night, Cordarius and I had been texting.
Mostly we would talk about Marcus and I's relationship, and he would give me advice on how to stay positive and keep a good face even when I didn't want too.
Suprisingly, I've been listening to what he's been saying so far and it's been helping, but deep down I still missed being with Marcus and regardless of how I acted, I still wanted him back."Yeah I have."
"And? How's it been workin?"
"Fine." I said folding my arms across my chest. "Obviously Im not over him completely, but I can keep on a good face around my family and friends, so that helped." He smirked.
"See I told you, and watch once you keep telling yourself your okay, you become okay, that's just how it works."
"Yeah." I said lowly, not really knowing if that was true or not.
"But look." He started. "Me and some of my niggas gon be hangin out tonight at The Pit, I wanted to know if you wanted to come with me and chill for a little bit."
