i woke up at 8 am very excited because i would be having my first in person exam after so long since covid started.
i prepared all morning by revising the old provided midterm 1 for organic chemistry and was super hyped to do it. the excitement overtook the stress of actually doing the exam itself, which left me feeling confident about myself and my knowledge.
i ate my usual breakfast consisting of oatmeal with banana, peanut butter and chocolate chips, redid the old exam, then had to take a last minute dump.
i then walked over to the bus stop and waited for the bus, which could take from 5 minutes to half an hour, but that day it took 15 minutes, which was alright. i rode the bus for 30 to 40 minutes isb, with stinky people all the way to blair, which was the stop where i would have to take the train next.
the train took 20 minutes and i got off at my university. i went to the building where my classroom was, and since i was a bit early, i continued to revise until the time came to do the exam.
the classroom was super nice and bright and spacious, unlike marion hall which was possibly the worst classroom i've ever been in. the most chairs are comfy but it's like a large, very crowded auditorium where the prof can barely hear the students ask questions.
after finishing the exam, i finally met some girls from my sorority in person (since i was used to meeting them all through zoom) and we talked. i went to starbucks with one of them and tried white hot chocolate for the first time. i was initially going to order the peppermint mocha, but they ran out, so i asked the very québécoise lady in what type of drinks i'd be able to add different types of syrups (like hazelnut, vanilla, white chocolate sauce). i asked if i could add them to a hot chocolate, and the workers who were also very new didn't know so they said yes and we finally came to a conclusion that i'd be getting half dark and half white hot chocolate, which surprisingly was the best hot chocolate i've had.
we talked for a while until i reached the train station. her company was nice, and me being me, i love meeting people that i actually connect with. i was giddy the entire train ride, as well as sugar high because of the hot chocolate.
after getting home, my dad gave me a letter from employment and social development canada which caused a headache. i had to call cra and the agent who answered was super new and confused, so i was on the phone for over and hour. i was patient of course, but that's one hour of my time i won't get back.
later on, i took a shower while my parents went to the dentist and i came out of the shower to (halal) chicken tenders from popeyes, which was really nice. they taste so good with barbecue sauce. we talked for a while, then i watched an excerpt of the movie my parents were watching, which was about human trafficking. that shit is so scary. i watched an anime about that (and various other illegal crimes) called the "great pretenders" which was kind of similar,
by now it was 10 PM, so everyone went to bed except me. I tried watching something on netflix by myself but I couldn't really stand watching TV anymore after going through an anime phase. my best friend (who was far away in another university) facetimed me, so we talked for the next three hours about our lives, her new boyfriend, my new sorority, how we were working on pulling up out shitty grades and how she'd find me a guy to like because i haven't had a real crush in years.
we finally put down the call because my phone was dying, but it's always like this when we're hanging out together. we just can't shut up cause there's just so much to talk about and analyse. that's why we're friends, no matter how opposite we are from each other.
i then went to sleep very happily and satisfied with my life. a very nice day to remember.
