Annabeth's POV

I watched in horror as Percy, or Jack, or whatever he wanted to be called slowly stood up and shook with anger. I didn't know what he had seen, but it clearly pissed him off. His eyes were a dull sea green color and glowed with anger. His face was a hard stone cold mask and his hands were clenched together, his knuckles becoming white as snow. He slowly approached the God of Terror, and I silently prayed to any kind of God who ever liked Percy that he would survive this. I wanted to help him so badly, but this was his fight.

I held onto Jason's arm as I watched Percy walk towards the God. Jason brushed my back and grabbed Piper's hand. I looked up and saw Percy open his arms in a big hugging gesture, then quickly swing them together in a devastating motion. Deimos fell to the ground, his body lifeless, or well.. his eyes still looked alive, then Percy kneeled down next to him and whispered something. I tried to hear what he said, but it was impossible for me to hear. Then Deimos' eyes lost their glow. He was officially dead.

I sighed in relief and watched every monster turn to dust and go to Tartarus. I smiled in relief and dropped my dagger onto the ground and fell to my knees. I was exhausted, but I quickly got up and helped the wounded demigods. I saw Percy sitting on the ground but I didn't walk over to him. He looked like he needed to be alone for a bit.

I was helping Will with a bad cut on a demigod's arm, when Tony, one of the Avengers also called Ironman, walked over to Percy. And you know me. I had to know what they were talking about.

"You okay, Perce?" Tony asked and sat down next to him. I quickly looked and saw that he gave a slight nod. Tony looked worried at him, and I completely understood. Percy had seen something in Deimos' eyes, and I didn't warn him about it. When I fought the God, I almost disappeared into his eyes too, but I was lucky to get out of it and keep fighting, or else I would have been dead.

"It's just..." Percy said out of breath, he sounded completely devastated. I immediately wanted to run over to him and hug him. I knew we weren't together anymore, and I could accept that, of course. Of course I still wanted to be his girlfriend, but if he didn't want to, then it was okay. But Percy just sounded so broken when he spoke. "I saw him die." His voice cracked and he sobbed.

"You saw who die?" Tony asked softly, brushing the great hero on his back.

"I saw him die, Tony." Percy cried into Tony's side. I focused on helping the demigod with her cut on her arm and then moved on to helping Will with something else. I shouldn't have listened, I knew that.

I was sitting on the ground when someone sat down next to me. I didn't look up, but kept ripping grass out of the ground. We had lost many in this war. Was it even a war? Was it just a fight? I didn't know. And I hated not knowing it. And now I'm just focusing on stupid things. What I should be focusing on is if Deimos is going to keep his promise, maybe he would break it? Even if he swore on the River Styx?

"Hey.." I looked to my left and saw a ravenblack haired guy with tan skin and dull sea green eyes. He looked at me and gave me a small sad smile. "I'm sorry for not helping you earlier, you know.." He said, and began to rip grass out of the hill.
