'Was this really the poor Jiang family? How come they are dressed better than the bride and groom? Was their business doing this good?' These were the thoughts everyone was thinking about.
"I'm very sorry again for being late." Said Tang Shushui once again in a gentle tone.
"It's okay brother, we know you didn't mean to be late." Responded Tang Chan An with a forced smile.
After the facade, the wedding ceremony officially began. Since this was a village marriage it wasn't as extravagant as the city ones, but compared to the other marriages in the village this was considered a big one among the villagers.
It took about an hour for the bride and the groom to finish the formalities of the ceremony, after that everyone was drinking and eating. But one thing was certain, the bride wasn't the main focus, it was Tang Shushui.
Tang Shushui looked ethereal, his long black silky hair swayed gently in the wind making him even more beautiful. The women were jealous whereas the men were regretful, they should've married Tang Shushui when his family kicked him out, the men thought bitterly.
After all the feasting it was time to give the newlyweds wedding presents. The villagers mostly gave rice and grains, it was only the Tang household who gave three jin of meat and one jin of gluttonous rice, these things were expensive and once again the attention returned to the Jiangs, everybody wanted to know what they would give.
Seeing Tang Shushui turn to Jiang Yanwei everyone started sneering. No matter what they were still poor, that superior act of theirs has finally drooped.
"Brother you did not bring any gift for the newlyweds? Do you till hold a grudge?" Asked Tang Chang An his voice dripping with concern making everyone once again look at Tang Shushui with contempt.
"I know you never thought of me like family, but Chu Fang is this how you raise your son. No matter the past he should learn to move on." Echoed Feng Fan her voice filled with disappointment but her eyes said otherwise.
"Is this how you raise your kid hmm?! This is exactly why my son reputation you, you vile woman." Shrieked Old Lady Tang, her eyes filled with hatred.
"How dare you talk down to my mother like that? Have you forgotten that she is no longer your daughter-in-law? And a former mistress who slept with somebody who was married with a child and then had the audacity to follow the husband home to repudiate his wife at home dare to say my mom did not raise her child well?" Questioned Tang Shushui with a low tone.
Feng Fan's face paled while everybody looked at her again with the same look of contempt they looked at her a decade ago. She hated Tang Shushui even more now. How could he reopen her long-life scar in front of so many people?
"And if you have let me talk, you would've known that I indeed brought a present, I was just waiting for the right time to present it." Tang Shushui continued calmly.
"Well we're all fellow villagers here you can give it to me now," Responded Song Shi with an eager smile on his face.
"If you say so." Replied Tang Shushui with a calm face his smile never changing.
After saying that Tang Shushui pulled out a beautifully embroidered purse causing everyone to gasp but when he opened the purse some people gasped, even more, a woman directly passed out. Tang Shushui has actually gotten Song Shi such a beautiful silver hairpin? After he stole Wan Tian from him? Now the villagers were confused.
Hello guys! Some of my readers do not follow me so you probably have not seen my explanation. I will explain why I have not been updating for a while now. My school is currently having exams and my anxiety has acted up again (It was really bad this time) so I took a break from basically everything. I will however continue to update my stories for you guys as soon as possible. I know how it feels to be reading a good story on Wattpad just to have it stopped so I will not be abandoning my stories. For the Transmigration of a gay assassin, I will not be making it mature because of some circumstances. I will try my very best to update the stories, and again I'm very sorry for not updating my stories and no I will not be taking a hiatus. Thank you for your understanding!
So I updated half a chapter for you guys since I've been feeling better lately.
Question of the day.
How's your mental health?
