Seeing that the selection was about to begin, the children who were still studying put down their books and made their way to the hall. In the crowd of children, four children were particularly eye-catching. Even though they weren't dressed as expensively as the young masters and misses, their clothes and bags were very novel, plus they were the only ones looking easygoing despite the tense atmosphere. Every now and then you could hear the sound of laughter coming from their group.

Even though the teachers were acquainted with this particular group of students, they were still surprised, but the teachers who taught the kids themselves thought that it was only expected. After all these kids were some of the best students in this school.

They had hardly any foundation when they first joined the school. Despite the fact that they could read and write a few characters, they were still very lacking. But in just three months, they progressed to the point where they were among the top twenty. The professors were astonished by the students' quick development and felt they were geniuses, but Tang Shushui is of course wholly responsible for this. The kids weren't geniuses, but because he taught them using modern techniques, they were able to pick things up quite quickly.

He also taught the kids other things, such as literature, poetry, archery, fist fighting, dancing, embroidery, calligraphy, arithmetics, and many other things. He gave the kids these resources and it was up to them to learn or not, and the kids really did not disappoint. They were very enthusiastic to learn, which actually surprised Tang Shushui. He's seen so many kids forget their past when they become rich and just rely on the fact that they now had money, and became lazy. He was already prepared to wield the rod, but he was embarrassed on return. These kids really reminded them of his son in his past life, he was just as enthusiastic. Taking advantage of the enthusiasm of the kids and taught them to the best of his abilities, which was a lot.

Chunhua picked up all the five arts, but she was very proficient in playing the qin, and embroidery. Lui Qiu also picked up the five arts, but she failed all of them and was proficient in dancing and archery. Chaoxiang picked up the four arts but was proficient in arithmetic and martial arts, especially kung fu. Cai'er pricked up both the five arts and four arts but was very proficient in calligraphy and poetry.

These skills were of course demonstrated in front of the teachers, so they knew just how good these students were, and thus thought it was normal for them to calm down. Though the teachers were thinking so much about the situation, the kids on the other hand were calm. It was not that they were confident, it was simply that they didn't care.

At first, they admired these reputed figures and wished to someday be like them, but seeing how talented their Tang Shushui was they were no longer surprised by other talents. They didn't want the evaluation and recognition of others, they only wanted that of Tang Shushui, so they didn't really care about the evaluation of the teachers. So it was only normal that they were calm.

They walked into the hall and looked around. The hall had something that was like a platform, it was where the kids would perform. Before the podium, there were five chairs with tables, and pots of teas on them, this was where the judges would seat. In the middle of the room and all the way back were long tables with benches, this was where the kids would sit.

The kids quietly took their seats according to when they were going to perform. All four siblings sat together since they were going to perform one after the other. The table they were sitting at had many noble kids on it, but only five of them were truly worth fearing. They all came from the most powerful aristocratic houses.

First was Zeng Renshu, his father was Grand Chancellor, and his mom was the eldest Di daughter of the Minister of justice. His mom was the main wife, and she was smart. The Grand Chancellor's backyard was tightly managed, and the main wife was very much favored, plus she gave birth to three kids. So it was only natural that the Grand Chancellor adore the kids. He spoiled his two Di daughters rotten and gave his Di son only the best of the best so it was expected of them to be spoiled. And since he was spoiled it was inevitable for him to be naughty, so the Grand Chancellor decided to send him to his aunt's house in this town for a year, and he had to go to school so they chose here.
