Chapter 34- A Night Out

You stepped foot on Yashiori Island's border disguised as soldiers of the Resistance Army and started searching around for signs of Scaramouche. You came across boxes and looked inside them and found polearms, swords and bows in them.

"These are Fatui-made. Looks like the partnership did happen, after all." said Yana.

"Hmm...but don't you all use guns?"

"Yes, we do but the partnership was confidential. Using a completely different weapon type on the Shogunates would have exposed us."

"That makes sense...."

You continued your search around the island for a few more hours, you met some soldiers eventually and kept a normal behavior in front of them. You came across a warehouse and found more supply boxes containing weapons and training equipment but found no signs of Scaramouche.

"Looks like that's enough for today. I'll go and inform Signora about today's progress."

The others nodded then you changed into Fatui attire to go to Narukami Island. You found out the inn she was staying at from the Tenryou Commission leader and went there. She allowed you inside her room and asked you to sit on the bed while she prepared some tea for the two of you then came and sat beside you.

"So, what happened today?"

"Nothing much. We found a warehouse containing weapon boxes and that's all. No signs of Balladeer but it seems the partnership indeed happened. We overheard some conversations between the soldiers and they talked about a beach confrontation that happened 3 days ago. They also said their leader, the Sanganomiya priestess is at Watatsumi Island currently."

"Hmm....same as the other groups. I have ordered everyone else to blend in with the Army and gather as much information as possible. If the partnership indeed happened then we will surely get some leads on Balladeer. Your group should continue the search around the outskirts, there should be more similar warehouses somewhere."

"Alright, we will."

She smiled softly then glanced at you wearing the Fatui uniform and chuckled.

"The clothes look good on you."

You blushed then took a sip of your tea.

"Thank you....they are quite comfortable to wear as well."

"Hehe~ Only the highest quality fabrics are used to make these uniforms."

You chuckled as well, both of you sat beside each other for a while and drank your tea. You glanced out of the window and saw the faint scenery of a beach nearby and an idea occurred to you.

"U-Um, Signora....if you want to then shall we go for a walk outside? I wanted to check out the beach."

"At this hour?"

"R-Right, sorry! It's late, you should sleep now. I'll go by myself."

You hurriedly kept the teacup back and proceeded to walk out of the room but stopped.

"Did I refuse?"

She spoke from behind and you were caught by surprise but felt happy as well. She put her teacup aside then wore her heels and came to your side. She didn't wear her cape as it would be too bulky to walk on the beach with it. Both of you went behind the inn and your eyes widened at the moonlit beach in front of you, the water sparkling ever so brightly. You stood on the shoreline and felt the gentle breeze on your face along with the waves tickling your feet.

Signora stood at the back as she didn't want to spoil her dress and watched you, the smile on your face warmed her heart and she smiled to herself. Both of you walked on the shoreline beside each other, you didn't really talk as you were too busy in taking in the scenery around you.
