Chapter 58- Work of Fate

Signora opened her eye and found herself surrounded by pure whiteness as far as the eyes could see. It was like a stainless white canvas, nothing there to tarnish it. Even her footprints didn't leave a mark. She looked down at her hands and saw her burns were gone, her skin was as flawless as before the calamity happened. She then touched her face and realized she wasn't wearing her mask nor her headpiece, she also realized she was able to see with her other eye and it wasn't burnt any longer just like her hands.

"What is this place? How did I reach here?"

She tried to use her powers but nothing happened, she looked to her side and saw her catalyst was no longer floating there. She touched her chest and focused on her heartbeat, she could feel it was beating like a normal person's heart and not how her flaming heart always beat- without any beats. She was extremely confused and looked around her to make out where she was and to find somebody but all she could see was an empty white world.

"Y/n? Where is she? I must find her."

You were the first thought that came into her mind, suddenly a beam of blinding light shone from the side and she decided to follow that. She walked a few steps and saw a familiar silhouette slowly appear in front of her.

"Y/n!"

She called out but you didn't look at her and instead turned to walk towards the other side, away from her.

"Did she not hear me? Y/n!"

She shouted again and increased her pace but couldn't catch up to you then stopped as she saw another figure appear beside you. It was a man looking the same age as you and having very similar features to you.

"Is that....her brother? Didn't he join the Abyss Order?"

She saw the two of you walk away and started following you again while calling out to you but her voice was unheard by you. Soon enough, she saw the pure white world turn dark all of a sudden, a color she was too familiar with. It looked just like that day when the ashen sky surrounded Teyvat in its greatest nightmare. 

"No....why is this happening again? Did we lose the war?!"

She pondered in bafflement then suddenly heard sounds of blades clashing. She looked behind her and saw you fighting with your brother, her eyes widened in shock and she ran towards you to help you and stop the fight but all her attempts were in vain. It was like she was invisible to both of you. She then saw your brother jump into a portal and disappear while monsters started attacking you and your surroundings- just like that day when Teyvat was run over by such monsters who caused endless calamities.

"No....not this again....I must save her!"

She extended her arm towards you but suddenly your figure disappeared right before her eyes. Smoke and fires engulfed the world around her, neither sunlight nor moonlight could penetrate the ashen sky. She looked around to find you again and started running aimlessly, a similar fear crept up to her as she furiously searched for you. Suddenly, she heard a small splash sound and looked at her feet and saw she stepped foot in a pool of blood.

She immediately took a step back and followed the trail of the blood, hoping for not what she feared the most. She saw a body lying on the ground, unconscious and covered in severe injuries all over. She swallowed a lump in her throat then took a step forward to see the face of the person and her worst fear came true. It was your body lying there. 

"Y/n! No!"

She gasped and shouted then ran towards your unconscious body and kneeled down beside you, she held your head up and kept it on her lap while trailing her gaze all over you to see your injuries then started shaking your head vigorously while calling out your name.
