Chapter 39- Secrets

You were going to the dining hall to have breakfast as instructed by Signora, while walking you noticed how everyone was giving you strange looks and giggling to themselves after looking at you. You furrowed your brows and reached the dining area then assembled your plate when suddenly someone patted your back.

"Good job, Y/n~"

It was Yana, but what was she talking about?

"What do you mean 'good job'? What did I do?"

"Ugh, don't play so innocent now. I know how long you waited for it so I just wanted to congratulate you."

"Waited for what?"

"You know.....with Lady Signora~"

"With her? What with her....?"

You were extremely confused as you had no idea how this was related to Signora. Yana sighed then came near your ear to whisper.

"Lady Signora was in a good mood this morning because you were with her the whole night; we saw you come out of her room."

Yana smirked and you tried to process what she was getting at and finally realized it which caused you to become flustered and almost drop the plate in your hand.

"NO! You have the wrong idea! We didn't do anything!"

"Come on, Y/n~ Don't worry, we will never let any of Lady Signora's secrets out, trust us~"

You looked at her wide-eyed then grabbed her arm and pulled her along with you and sat down on a table.

"I'm telling you! We didn't do anything other than simply sleeping yesterday. You all have the wrong idea!"

"....Is that so? So, you were just talking and then slept? That's it?"

You vigorously nodded and Yana sighed and nodded back.

"I get it, I'm sorry for assuming the wrong thing. I'll let everyone know what the real story is."

"Phew~ Thanks a lot...."

"But, Y/n.....how long do you plan to keep your feelings in? Just tell her already, I'm sure she also feels the same way about you."

You were quite surprised by this as you had forgotten about confessing due to the recent events, but you knew it would have to wait a bit longer.

"I will after we.....clear up certain things."

Yana sighed and nodded then went outside while you finally had breakfast. The rest of the day passed with you spending time with others on the ship and eventually with Signora too. Her behavior was completely different from yesterday, nobody would believe how much she cried yesterday if they saw her present state. You didn't bring it up to her as you understood she doesn't want to talk about it, at least not yet. You wanted her to say it herself when she's ready rather than force her into it.

The ship finally reached Snezhnaya next evening, it was around 8 pm when everyone disembarked and proceeded to go their residences. The Gnoses and mission report would be delivered tomorrow hence you and Signora sat in her carriage to go to her residence then to your hotel. You reached her residence and escorted her till the entrance and kept all her luggage there for the maids to take it inside and were ready to say goodbye to her.

"I'll meet you tomorrow, Signora. Good night and take care."

You smiled and turned around to walk away but were stopped as she held your wrist. You looked back at her and saw a quite....desperate look on her face.
