Chapter 2- Meet Again

You reached Liyue Harbor and asked the people around about the Rite of Descension and were told it'll start soon. You went to the venue, Yujing Terrace and stood in the crowd, as front up as possible so as to get a proper view of things and get the chance to meet Rex Lapis. You heard whispers about a person named Ningguang and you remembered she's the Tianquan of the Liyue Qixing and found out she'll be starting the ceremony. Few moments passed and that very same woman finally walked out and stood in the center of the stage.

She looked truly beautiful and elegant but you couldn't get that woman you saw earlier, the Fatui Harbinger out of your mind. It was as if she had captured you just with her beauty but you quickly shook that feeling off as Ningguang started the ceremony. The ceremony seemed to go well until something unexpected happened. A giant dragon fell out of the sky and Ningguang exclaimed Rex Lapis had been killed. You looked around and saw Milleliths coming in and seizing anyone who got top close and unfortunately you were a suspect as well.

You tried to run away unnoticed but a wrong move diverted all attention on you and you summoned your sword to fight them off then suddenly some arrows shot out from behind you followed by a man's voice.

"Ojou-chan, don't move!"

A man wearing a gray shirt and a crimson scarf, similar to the color of Signora's cape jumped out from nowhere and landed in front of you. He then summoned blades made of water and fought the Millelith then gestured you to follow him. You didn't know who he was or what his motive was but at the moment you knew it's better to follow him.

He took you to a building in Liyue Harbor which looked quite different from other buildings all around. Both of you went inside and were greeted by some mask-wearing people who looked similar to the people you saw at Mondstadt who were with Signora and you realized this was the Fatui's hideout.

"Uhm, may I know who you are now?"

You asked the ginger-haired man who turned around and smiled.

"My name is Tartaglia but just call me Childe. Say, did you come across a 'Signora' at Mondstadt by any chance?"

"I did. So I was right, you are one of the Harbingers just like her."

"Oh, you already recognized me. As expected from the acclaimed traveler. Well, unlike her I'm not here to fight you. I'm here to help you."

"She didn't really fight me, she more or less did what she came to do and went away but whatever."

"Oh~ I'm surprised that you aren't cautious of Signora after what she did."

"I am but it's not like she did anything to me. If she or the Fatui, in general, try to come in my way then I would take action otherwise I'm not going around fighting people or interfering in their business."

"Haha, I like people like you. Straight to the point and minding their own business. It's the first time someone didn't have a negative impression of Signora on their first meeting."

"Well, you can't really judge people just from meeting them once. I don't believe the first impression is the last impression and as I just said, I don't really care what you all do as long as you don't come in my way."

"Haha, quite an open-minded person you are. Truly befitting to be a traveler. Well anyways, let's get down to business."

You nodded and he told you that he'll help you clear your name. You took up his offer and met the Adepti as instructed and got your name cleared. He then told you to meet Zhongli, an associate of the Fatui with the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor who said he can get you to meet Rex Lapis.
