Chapter 12- Strange

You went to Signora's office and knocked on the door, she allowed you in and you saw her working on documents on her table, you then walked up to her and stood in front of the table.

"Was the session fine today?"

She asked while her gaze didn't leave the document.

"Yes, it went well. I saw the notice you put up..."

"Does it bother you?"

"N-No, it's actually better this way. It made things easier."

"Good then."

"Mhm. Well, I just came to tell you that I'm going back."

"You don't need to inform me every time, you are free to come and leave the palace as you please."

"A-Alright..."

You nodded and turned around to go back, you glanced back at her once and stopped for a moment. You saw piles of papers and files all around her and thought of something, you then walked up to her again and stood in front of her.

"What? Did you forget something?"

"No, actually I'd like to help you with your work- if you don't mind, of course."

She stopped writing and looked up at you with her eye-widened.

"And why is that?"

"O-Oh, um....as thanks?"

She looked at you with her eye narrowed then nodded, you smiled and sat down on a chair at your side and she handed you a pile and instructed you what has to be done. You listened in closely and started working and she continued as well. Both of you didn't speak much as you worked, you occasionally asked her a few things you didn't understand and she explained to you and you continued working.

An hour passed and she was done with the pile in her hand and proceeded to take papers from the next pile but her hand didn't hold any paper. She looked to that side and saw the pile was already halved then looked in front of her and saw you had already started with it and even completed it halfway.

"Hmm, quite efficient. Looks like I don't need to stay back for long. If only this could happen every day...."

She suddenly realized what she just thought of and was surprised.

".....Every day? Why would I think that? This obviously can't happen every day, she's here only for a short time...."

She was lost in her thoughts when you called out to her and she snapped out of her trance.

"Signora, about this part here...."

She shook her head slightly then looked at what you were pointing at and explained to you. She picked up papers from another pile and continued working by keeping all other thoughts aside. Half an hour passed and all the piles were completed, she was surprised by how quickly it all happened as normally she would have done it alone which would have taken another hour to complete.

Both of you stood up and packed your things then proceeded to walk out of the office and towards the exit of the palace. You escorted her till her carriage and opened the gate for her before the driver could, she went up and sat inside and you were about to close the door but she stopped you.

"Sit, I'll drop you."

"O-Oh no, it's fine. It isn't a long wa-"

"Just sit."

She ordered and you blushed then nodded and sat inside in front of her, the carriage started moving soon after. Both of you looked in the opposite directions the whole way and didn't talk at all then you suddenly remembered something and looked at her.
