Loki carefully picks up the casket, a brief second of relief to see nothing until his hands started to turn blue. His hands shook as he drops the casket, feeling the cold creeping over all over his skin. He hid himself from his flower, afraid to see her look of disgust as he kept his back to her.

"Loki..." (y/n) mumbles, brows furrowed as he saw his body tremble and walked closer to him.

"Don't!" Loki snaps, pulling away from (y/n). "I cannot let you see me like this-" the young prince gasps as she turns him around, flinching away from her touch as if he might burn her but she holds his hands in hers. "(y/n)-" Loki shakes as she held his hands so gently, her thumbs brushing his knuckles softly. Loki looked down at his flower to not see disgust, but to see the warmth in her eyes as she smiles at him.

(y/n) wanted to prove to Loki that she was not afraid of him and will never be afraid of him, to prove to him that he will never be a monster in her eyes. She holds Loki's hands against her cheeks and he breaks, tears gathering in his eyes as she leans up to hold his face. He saw the awe in his flowers eyes, that very same fascination with people and objects that she cherishes. And she was looking at him.

(y/n)'s thumbs carefully brush against the ridges on Loki's cheeks of his beautiful royal blue skin, admiring his red eyes that stare down at her. "I do not understand..." Loki closes his eyes, leaning against his flowers hand.

"I care about you Loki, I care about you a lot. I don't ever want to see you hurt or upset, I only want to see you happy." Loki knew that (y/n) didn't understand the meaning behind her words, the true weight of them that made his heart ache. He knew that she did not know how to convey her emotions just yet, to convey the same feelings he had for her buried deep in his heart. Feelings that truly frightened him but he would wait, wait for the day (y/n) would tell him her true feelings.

He would wait eons just for her.

Loki leaned his forehead on (y/n)'s as she held his hands that held her cheeks. "Stop!" the two adults jump from the commanding voice, Loki going frigid and (y/n) could see the growing anger in his eyes that burned red.

"The Casket wasn't the only thing you took from Jotunheim that day, was it?" Loki sneered as he turned around, his Jotun form in full view to Odin. (y/n) quickly grabbed his hand tightly, looking up at him to see him relax as his skin turned pale again.

"No." Odin replies and Loki clenches his jaw, walking towards his kidnapper with (y/n) behind him. "In the aftermath of the battle, I went into the temple and I found a baby." Odin recalls the moment he found Loki in the temple, him being the heir to the King of Jotuns.

"Laufey's son..." Loki mumbles out, brows furrowed as to why he was taken. Why he was taken from his home and his people. "Why? You were knee-deep in Jotun blood, why would you take me?"

"You were an innocent child."

"No! You took me for a purpose. What was it!?" Loki hisses out, his hand unconsciously squeezing (y/n)'s hand as a form of lifeline to know she was there to keep him grounded. "TELL ME!" He screams at Odin when he doesn't say anything. (y/n) hated how Loki was in so much pain, tears falling down his cheek from the betrayal of the man he claimed was his father. He was taken for a fool and lied to about his true heritage, lied to his entire life.

"I thought we could unite our kingdoms one day. Bring about an alliance, bring about permanent peace. Through you." (y/n) felt sick to her stomach at Odin's words, realising that he had taken Loki as only a bargaining chip and the prince felt broken from that.
