--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It was an oddly quiet morning on the helecarrier, agents chatting together while the Avengers sat together at a table for their meeting, It was a usual beautiful day with clear blue skies but there was an odd atmosphere lingering in the air, a sense of uncertainty. The Avengers waited awkwardly, some reading a newspaper, some drinking coffee or some cleaning their weapons. Granted, these people didn't know each other that well or for long enough to properly call each other acquaintances.

"Is she not awake yet?" Clint asks, peering by the doorway expecting to see the new girl but instead sees Thor walk through while eating some pop tarts that he had stolen from the kitchen.

"Is (y/n) awake yet?" Tony asks the hungry god who shakes his head no.

"She always sleeps in till late evening every day." Thor sputters out and Clint grimaces.

"Watch where you're spewing!"

"Someone go wake that damn girl up. I'm not here to waste my time." Fury snaps and Natasha gets up to get the new girl, thinking maybe she would be more comfortable with a fellow female. She walks towards the bedroom, an eery chill running down her spine when all she hears is silence standing before the door.

"(y/n)?" Natasha knocks on the door before opening it up, slightly confused at how dark it was in the room despite it bright and almost scorching outside. There was a single streak of light from the slim opening between the curtains but it still was too dark for Natasha to take a good look at the bedroom she was standing in. "(y/n)..." Natasha whispered, walking towards the bed to shake the sleeping lump awake when she suddenly hears a low growl. The agent looks up slowly to see a nightmare-inducing creature in the corner of the ceiling, all 4 stilted metal limbs long and sharp and skewered into the wall until it jumps at her. She quickly moves out of the way, looking up to see the creature gone but freezes as she feels a sharp sting on her neck.

"Who are you?" Natasha could feel her heart jump at the fact that someone was able to sneak up on her. For the first time in years, she was slightly terrified. She could easily pick up on the heartbeat of people who try to sneak up on her, incapacitating them before they could even jump her but this person... Natasha didn't hear a single beat.

"I'm not going to hurt you." The agent slowly raises her arms to show that she was defenceless even though she had many weapons hidden away in her suit.

"Where is Loki?" the creature growled again, pressing their metal limb higher on Natasha's neck making her tilt her head up.

"I don't know where he is but I do know that there is someone you recognise here on the ship." Natasha felt the creature back off, letting her walk towards the open doorway. "Let me just call for him." She kept her arms up and walked backwards slowly to not set off the creature that watched her from the corner of the room. "Thor! (y/n) needs you!"

"Thor?" The creature whispers softly and Natasha looks over to see that the creature was actually (y/n), her standing in the sliver of light from the barely open curtains illuminating her scar on her face.

"(y/n)?" Thor walks in, confused as to why he was disturbed with his feasting when he sees (y/n) retract her metal limbs back to her body. Despite the surprise of this new ability he never knew his friend had, Thor slowly walks up to her as she slumps over, dropping Mörker that had gone back to its original sword form. "Are you ok?" with the softest voice he could muster, Thor whispers and gently tilts (y/n)'s face up to his. He could see her dull eyes clear up again, a look of recognition on in her eyes.
