--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Lady (y/n)?" The maid patiently knocks on the door, waiting for a reply of permission for her to enter. But when she receives no such reply, the maid sighs and gently sets the platter of dinner she was ordered to retrieve for Lady (y/n), down on the ground. "Your dinner is outside for you m'lady." The maid whispers softly while taking a step back, wondering if she should do something else but decides to just leave.

The woman on the other side opens up the door and takes the platter before locking her bedroom door once more. She picks up the single rose that lay next to the dinner, a beautiful green that glowed along with the other flowers in the single vase that sat on the coffee table. (Y/n) sat on the couch after putting the rose in the vase, staring at the flowers and mindlessly brushing her fingers against the soft bandages that covered her entire body.

She had been hiding away in her room for some time now ever since she had woken up, ashamed of her appearance that would otherwise let everyone know she wasn't a normal being, that she truly wasn't Asgardian. Thor and Frigga noticed the sudden change in (y/n), incredibly worried when she didn't leave her bedroom to dine with them or to even spend time with them like she used to do. They tried to coax her to come out, to talk to them with whatever was burdening her but the girl couldn't bear to reveal herself to them.

"Did she come out?" Thor asks when the maid walks around the corner, his mother standing next to him with a sad expression when the maid shakes her head. "What should we do?" The god of thunder asks his mother, her trying to figure out what to do but she knew it was almost hopeless without Loki. The one person (y/n) truly listened to. Unbeknownst to them, Loki hid behind a pillar while staying invisible.

He had a deep frown on his face when he heard what was happening, pulled into the role of being Odin and trying to rebuild Asgard that he didn't notice his flower hiding away when he didn't make her invisible to talk to her. He cursed softly, walking towards (y/n)s bedroom and teleporting inside. He didn't announce his presence, watching sadly as she sat on the couch in front of his flowers. She curled into herself, holding her covered arms before reaching to wear her mask.

(y/n) could look at herself anymore, couldn't bear to see the damage that riddled her face as an example of what her body looked like with the new cracks. Despite constantly filling them up with metal, it seemed more and more cracks just start to appear again. She didn't want anyone to see how deformed she was, hiding behind her mask.

"(y/n)..." loki whispers and she quickly jumps in her seat, turning around to face the very upset god when he noticed the untouched dinner.

"What are you doing here?" (y/n) mumbles behind her mask, donning her armour.

"You're not eating..."

"I am. The maid just dropped it off a couple of minutes ago."

"Do not lie to me. You haven't glanced at it in the last 5 minutes." Loki purses his lip as (y/n) frowned at him.

"What do you want Loki." she stands up, moving to walk past him but he grabs her arm to stop her. He carefully pulls her in front of him as she stared at the ground, not facing him.

"You are hurting..." (y/n) goes rigid in Loki's grip, it tightening when she tries to pull her arm out from his hand but he doesn't let her go.

"Let me go Loki. I'm not going to ask again." she seethes out and he narrows his eyes at her, pulling her closer to his chest. "Loki-"
