It had been a couple of days since (y/n) first learnt to spar with Thor as he had to go on a mission with his friends and the Warriors Three. She practises alone with her new sword called Mörker, a morbid name that oddly suited the sword which was carved into its leather sheath.

(Y/n) once again woke up after midday, always staying up during the night as she headed to the sparring grounds after having her very late, and most likely considered meal lunch by now, breakfast. She snuck past the guards and onto the field, wearing a light tunic and pants to work in. There was no one on the grounds at this time, (y/n) enjoying the solitude as she practised the moves Thor had taught her on the dummy guards.

As she practised, she didn't catch on the pair of emerald eyes that watched her move, taking in her elegant swiftness. Loki smiled coyly, also wearing light garments to fight in as he leaned against a wall while playing with his daggers that he caught after throwing them in the air.

"Loki!" (Y/n) jumped when she turned around to see him staring at her, a hand on her chest from the slight shock of being so engrossed in her activity. "You scared me!" Loki chuckled softly and walked down towards (y/n), tucking a loose lock behind her ear that escaped her ponytail.

"I thought I told you that learning to spar would be too dangerous for you?" (Y/n) looked up at Loki with a brow raised and he enjoyed the slight defiance from her.

"Too bad, Thor taught me and I guess I'm actually pretty good."

"Hmm, does seem like you do have the skills and the talent, especially to wield Mörker."

"How about you and me have a battle? What do you say Loki?"

"Let's make this more interesting. See if you really have the skills to beat me."

"What do you suggest?"

"A bet." Loki steps forward, his dagger carefully tilting up (y/n)'s head from beneath her chin as he looks down at her. "Victor can make their opponent do whatever they want for the rest of today." Of course, Loki had a plan and he will ensure that he succeeds.

"This will be interesting. I agree but don't underestimate me Loki." (Y/n) grinned as she pushes the end of the dagger down before taking a couple of steps back to give some space.

The young prince enjoyed a challenge and of course he wouldn't back down from a challenge that (y/n) agreed to, especially with the advantage of years worth of practise over her.

"Good. Let the best warrior win." The two circled each other, Loki trying to determine what (y/n)'s movements may be but her mind was always blocked. This was one of the many things that interested him as a child before he realised why he couldn't read her mind like any other person. Even so, (y/n) would never lie, always expressing herself so freely to others and on her sleeve which Loki admired. He was the god of mischief and lies, of course he can tell when someone was being untruthful.

Loki decided to make the first attack, an uncharacteristic move on his part as he always waits for his enemies to strike first and reveal their patterns to him before attacking. (Y/n) easily blocked his attack, Loki's daggers stopped by her sword before he was pushed back. Loki smirked from the strength that (y/n) exhibited, moving again to strike against her.

The two danced two and fro, dodging and blocking the attacks of the other person. (Y/n) swung down her sword against the real Loki amidst the fake illusions, him quickly jumping back as he swipes his foot to make (y/n) fall but she jumps. She slams her sword against the ground, using it as a pole to propel her body to kick Loki. He manages to predict this move, dodging the kick before grabbing hold of (y/n)'s leg and pulling her to the floor. She quickly tangles her feet with Loki and he gasps as she takes him down, turning him around so she had him pinned beneath her body.
