The Affair

Chapter 2

I heard Yolisa's phone ring then I woke up and shook her. "Baby, your phone." I say then she slightly opens her eyes.

"Your phone." I say then she stretches her hand to the side and gets the phone then I close my eyes and stay holding her on her waist.

"Baby." She says then I feel her sitting up.

"Mmhh." I answer.

"Food is ready let's go." She says then I open my eyes and sit up leaning against the headboard.

"Can we give them their phones now?" I ask looking at her. She lets out a sigh.

"Elihle can have his. Lihleli must wait." She says then gets out of bed. I do the same then we go to our closet. I put on my green checkered pj pants and a black tank top then Yolisa puts on my basketball shorts and oversized t-shirt.

"But what are we gonna do about your daughter. Baby mina I'm tired of her honestly cause this is not how we raised her." She says when she finishes getting dressed.

"I think we've spoilt her too much. Like when was the last time we actually hit her?" I ask then she let out a sigh.

"Baby, this person is eighteen. We can't be hitting her like she's still Asive's age. You think you doing your child a favour, only for her to throw that back in your face." She says then I laugh.

"Baby. Relax. You not a single parent. I'm here." I say rubbing her back then she leans onto my chest.

"Looks like we gonna start treating her like a child again since she wants to act like one." She says then I laugh.

"Love." I call her then she smiles.

"Fine." She says then we get out of the closet and go to our room. I grab Elihle's phone then open the door. I let her get out first then I follow behind her.

We go downstairs to the dining room then sit down. I give Elihle his phone. He is hesitant at first but eventually takes it.

"You not angry with what you found in there?" He asks then I laugh.

"Nah. You know you guys can do anything as long as you tell us. Our only problem is dating." I say looking at Lihleli in the kitchen.

"But again. Elihle, I don't like what I found in that phone. Since when do you drink and smoke weed?" Yolisa asks.

"Ma-" he says.

"Don't be scared. You not in trouble." I say holding his shoulder.

"I just wanted to explore." He says then I let out a chuckle.

"Like Andile said, we don't really mind what you do. But with the smoking part you should've atleast spoken to your mother." Yolisa says to him.

"I thought you would've said no. Or I'd get into trouble." He says.

"Listen. If you want to explore using legal substances, let us know from today onwards cause I'd hate to start treating you like Asive." I say to him the Asive quickly looks at me.

"What did I do now mama?" He asks then Yolisa and I smile.

"Nothing. Don't worry." I say to him then he goes back to playing on his phone.

"I'm sorry ma. So I can talk freely about these things with both of you?" Elihle asks with a smile.

"Not with me. I'll slap you." Yolisa says seriously then I laugh.

"I'm open." I say to him then he nods his head then looks down at his phone. I smile at Yolisa as I rub her hand.

Elihle helps Lihleli set up the table then she brings the plates. "Am I getting my phone back?" Lihleli asks when she sits down.
