I woke up the next morning and Yolisa wasn't in bed anymore, but I heard the shower. I got up and made the bed then went to the bathroom and to the sink. "Morning." I say putting toothpaste on my toothbrush.
"Hey." She answers. I brush my teeth then finish. "Have you had your coffee?" I ask then she hums no. I get out of the room and go down to Lihleli's room. I knock then get in.
I hear the shower then go to the bathroom. "Lihle." I call her then she looks back at me.
"When you finish, please make Yoli and I coffee." I say then she nods her head.
"Don't make your brother's anything. Elihle will do that." I add before I leave. It's about damn time we stop expecting Lihleli to be doing everything in this house whilst Elihle gets served all the time. Balance is needed now, regardless of who's older.
I go up to Elihle's room, knock the get in. "Go to Asive's room and run a bath and wash him." I say then he nods his head.
"After that make him breakfast. I don't know what you drink when we go to church but Lihleli will not be doing that for you anymore. You have hands and you'll did it yourself." I say then he smiles and nods his head.
"What's funny about what I just told you?" I ask walking to the door.
"I like how you fighting with me like I won't do it." He says then I arch my eyebrow.
"All you had to do was reply with a yes mama or nod. Don't tell me I'm fighting when I tell you to do something. I may act like I'm your friend, but don't talk to me like I'm one of them. I'm still your mother." I say quickly washing his smile off his face.
"Next time I won't let this go..." I say pointing at him then he nods his head. I walk to the door.
"Before you go bath your brother, make your mother her hot water with cayenne pepper and lemon juice. Asive better be ready at eight." I say then leave. This boy is getting too comfortable and it must stop. I have to keep them on their toes.
I get back in my room and see Yoli with a towel wrapped around her and she was on her way out. "Where are you going?" I ask looking at her. She opens the door.
"To make my water." She says.
"Elihle will do that. You can relax." I say then go to the bathroom. I hear the room door close.
I undress then get in the shower. "Andile what is going on with you?" She asks getting in the bathroom. I turn and look at her.
"What are you talking about?" I ask.
"One minute you are cold and the next you are warm. Like are we fighting or what.... Cause this on and off thing you doing is nonsense." She says then I shrug my shoulders.
"Just cause I'm doing shit I always do every Sunday before we go to church doesn't mean you and I are fine. This is a routine I've been doing since we started living together... I've fallen into it and nomatter what's happening between the two of us, it won't change." I say then she lets out a sigh. I shake my head then see her sitting on the toilet seat on the side of my eye.
"So we aren't okay. For real?" She asks then I shrug my shoulders.
"You know this. So don't start acting now." I say.
"Andile I told you was sorry." She says.
"Sorry without change simply means you just wanna stop fighting with me, but the shit we fighting about doesn't matter to you. Bruh you pissing me off. Just leave." I say then I see her stand up.
"But this that you doing... Will ruin our marriage. Don't forget that." She says walking.
"I'm so glad you said that cause I think you should start telling yourself that..." I say then she gets out and I shake my head. Dumbass argument that could've been avoided had she just shut her damn mouth. Damn.
