The Affair

Chapter 13

They were done and we were going to the car... We got in the car and got out of their estate.

"Mama can I connect?" Elihle asks talking about the Bluetooth.

"Just don't play that music of yours." I say then they laugh and he connects.

A song comes on and I just let out a chuckle the second I recognised it. This boy thinks that he's smart.

"Mama can I ask?" He says then I look at the rear view mirror.

"What?" I ask.

"Are you gonna sleep at home tonight?" He asks then I look in front of me.

"No." I say then I see him sit back in his seat.

"Do you remember this song?" He asks.

"Yes Elihle." I say shaking my head.

"This was-" I cut him off.

"Elihle, I know where this is going. Just keep quiet." I say then he lets out a sigh.

"So how long will this be going on? Like when are you coming back?" He asks.

"Elihle do you see Asive sitting right there next to you?" I ask then he looks at him.

"He doesn't know what's going. So don't do that." I say.

"Okay mama." He says then I look at Lihleli who's been quiet the whole time.

"Nana, are you fine?" I ask then she looks at me.

"Not really." She says then she leans against the window.

"Whatsup?" I ask.

"Can I come stay with you?" She asks then I let out a sigh.

"We'll talk when we get back in the house." I say just staring at the road. I swear Yolisa is gonna start pissing me off now. What the fuck is this?

Like this child is trying. I mean at this point, if she was the rebellious one she would've stayed in the house with Yolisa and carried on being disrespectful cause she knows she can't do just whatever with me.

We get to the house then we get out of the car. We get in the house then find Yolisa still in the kitchen, but she was dishing now. Did she cook a fucken feast, the fuck?

The kids go greet her but Lihleli goes straight to her room. "Kids go to your room and change out of your uniform. I wanna talk to your mom." I say to them then they go upstairs.

I look at them then I until I see them get in their rooms then they close the door.

"Yolisa are mental bruh?" I look at her then she arches her eyebrow.

"The fuck?" She asks coming closer to me.

"Why is Lihleli asking to come live with me? What are you doing to my child?" I ask.

"She wants to come live with you? Damn, she must go then. I don't have the energy to be fighting with a teenager." She says walking away then I hold her wrist and pull her back.

"Don't fucken mess with me. Carry on like this and I'll take all these kids away from you." I say then she looks at me.

"You wouldn't dare." She says then I let go of her.

"Try me. And I'll make this divorce a living hell for you." I say.

"An-" she gets cut off.

"What?" We hear someone say then we both turn around and see Elihle. I let out a sigh then lean against the kitchen counter.
