Chapter 24

"So you know how mama has a new girlfriend right?" He asks then I nod my head.

"Before I tell you, please don't get mad." He says then I shake my head.

"Elihle talk." I say then he lets out a sigh and looks down.

"She is abusive towards mama." He says then I scrunch my eyebrows.

"Abusive how?" I ask.

"Physically and emotionally." He says then I sit back and look up.

"Wha-" I say speechless.

"And the worst part is that they do all of this when Asive is around." He says then I clench my jaw. Fuck Yolisa.

"Please don't do anything drastic. I just thought it was important for you to know, incase something happens." He says then I shake my head.

"You did the right thing. But you know what I'm gonna do already." I say looking at him. He quickly shakes his head.

"Mama please no. It will break her." He says. "Elihle, that's my son. That environment, toxic. And I'm not gonna condone that." I say to him. He looks down and shakes his head.

"And imma ask you, cause you grown. Do you want me to-" he cuts me off. "No. I'm fine. I'll be fine." He says then I let out a sigh.

"Elihle. Think about yourself. Not your mom. Can you grow up in that environment?" I ask then he nods his head.

"Okay then, but if I see a slight decline in your mental health, I won't even ask you." I say to him then he nods his head. I shake my head.

I hear the doorbell then stand up and go to the door. I look through the peephole then open the door. I let her in.

"I told you to give me a heads up." I say as I close the door and turn around.

"Yes. I'm sorry. My phone died." She says then I just nod my head.

"Okay, please can you go get them. I'm in a rush." She says then I let out a sigh.

"You just got here. Where are you rushing to?" I ask. "Home." She says then I shake my head.

"Okay, but I need to speak to you about something." I say then she lets out a sigh.

"Can't it wait? I really need to get going." She says starting to panic.

"Relax. It's about Asive." I say then she stops and looks at me.

"What about Asive?" She asks.

"Elihle told me." I say leaning against the door.

"What?" She asks acting lost.

I let out a chuckle. "Oh okay. You really about to act dumb. I know about your Hun." I say then she looks at me questionably.

"Why are you tolerating her behaviour?" I ask then she lets out a sigh.

"I don't owe you an explanation." She says then I shrug my shoulders.

"That's where you right. Anyways, lemme go get him." I say then she nods her head.

As I walk past her, I turn around. "Oh, and." I say looking at her. She turns to look at me. "Tomorrow I'm meeting with my lawyer. I'm taking Asive." I say.

"Andile come on that's not fair."  She says then I stop her.

"Yolisa. You are exposing our son to a toxic environment and you didn't even tell me." I say.

"I have it sorted." She says then I arch my eyebrow.

"You are in a rush to leave cause your phone died. That doesn't look sorted to me." I say then she shakes her head.
