A female demon with white hair and green eyes stood upon the roof of a building, facing a young boy wielding a katana.

Down bellow, desperate cries could be heard, as people sobbed and screamed, the thick odor of blood was pungent in the evening air.

"Why would you trample over their lives?"  The boy asked calmly, although it could be seen that he was quivering with rage, his katana shaking.

"They can never come back!  Those lost lives, will never return!"

The demon cocked her head as she listened silently to his words.

I've heard those words before, I. . .

Her eyes widened as the image of a tall man came into view.

"What do you take life for, exactly?

A curtain of red covered her vision.

"What do you find so entertaining?  What is so amusing about this?"

And he was once again hidden from her sight.

"How can you forget?"

"Ume."

A soft voice spoke beside her and she saw a woman with long brown hair standing before her, although her eyes, they were only white, as if she had forgotten something.

Are these my memories?

She questioned as her hands were planted on the sides of her temples.

No, not all of these are my memories.

The memories of these cells . . .

She saw the man charging toward her.

This man, he's from Master Muzan's memories!

"You were a human once weren't you?"

The boy asked, his hands tightening around his katana.

The demon tore her eyes away from the memories which had stopped in place.

"I'm a demon now, so who cares about that?"

She spat out in reply.

"Demons never grow old, and they don't die."

She heard her voice crack on her last word, she had forgotten something, she definitely had forgotten something, but what did it matter?

"We beautiful, powerful demons,"  She continued.

"Can do anything we DESIRE!"

"Fine."  The boy breathed as he moved in to cut off her head.

She wasn't focusing on the battle.

As much as she tried to force herself to, she just couldn't.

She had heard those words before, those words, those words.

"Mother."

A young girl spoke, her large blue eyes looking up as she held her mother's hand.

"Are we going to see brother at the school?"

"Very nice guess Ume, yes we are."  The woman smiled, although her eyes were still white.

When they had reached the crossroads, the little girl's eyes widened in horror as a older boy was beating her brother to a pulp.

"Kazutaka!"  Her mother gasped, and picking the girl up, so she wouldn't be left behind she ran toward the scene.

"Stop, what are you doing?"  She asked as her hand gripped the boy's wrist, preventing him from throwing another punch.

"Let go of me woman!"  The boy growled as he fought her grasp.

She released his hand as she bent down over her son, gathering his small form in her other arm, making sure that no bones were broken.

"Why would you do this?"  She asked, her voice cold as her eyes which were still blank stared at the boy.

"He is a freak, he deserves this."  He snapped in reply, his eyes looking into her's defiantly.

"What do you take him for?  He is still human, like you and I.  He can still feel pain."

Something changed behind the boy's eyes as uncertainty flickered across his face.

"What do you find so entertaining? What is so amusing about this?  Beating someone weaker than yourself."

The woman stood up, "Don't repeat this again."

The demon's attention snaps back to the battle as the boy charges forward.

It hurts, what is this pain?

She asks herself as he slices one of her slashes.

As he grows faster than he was before.

Her eyes widen watching his blade fall toward her neck.

"Ume."

The voice murmurs as she stands frozen.
