You felt so useless standing there, in the corridor, while hearing Jimin screaming in pain because of your father and doing nothing. You couldn't open the door, nor had your dad noticed you were trying to open it - you were sure he would have wanted to know who was the idiot who was interrupting his torturing session. Hell, you wanted to punch him for the first time in your life. Straight on his nose. Hard.

But then, as you heard Jimin trying to muffle another scream, something came up into your mind, fortunately. A good excuse to catch your dad's attention.

"Dad!" You screamed as loud as you could, hoping your mother wouldn't hear you and think you were in danger.

She had never gone in the basement, she always said it was not a place for her and the less supernatural creatures she saw, the better it was for her. Sometimes you wished to be like that, to be careless about those beings in your basement, but you just couldn't stay away from them. You loved some of them, while you were very curious about other ones. That was your world after all, your dad was a magician and your mum came from a family of magicians as well so... you thought there was no point in avoiding all of that.

"Dad!" You screamed again, possibly louder than the first time - your throat was hurting, but you didn't care as long as it was going to make Jimin's screams stop. You just couldn't stand him suffering any more, it did something to your heart you weren't fully aware of but which you didn't like. You weren't even realising how worried you were for him.

Go away, stupid girl! I'm okay here!

"No you're not!" You exclaimed, almost angry at the fact that he was trying to make you go away when he was in so much pain.

Then, suddenly, you couldn't hear anything. No screams, no insults, no sound of magic spreading from your dad. Nothing. There was such an uncomfortable silence that you couldn't even hear anyone breathing. If hearing Jimin's and your dad's screams was scary, that silence made you feel like you were in a horror movie, right before something bad was about to happen.

Though, the door handle started moving and your father appeared a few seconds later, with furrowed eyebrows. He was all sweaty, causing his hair to stick onto his face while he looked exhausted. "Y/n?"

"Dad!" You threw yourself on him, hugging him tight and pretending to be worried. You were actually a bit grossed out because of the sweat on his body, but you ignored it for a good cause. "I heard someone screaming. Are you okay? Did the devil hurt you?"

Your dad placed his hands around your waist, a little bit stunned because of your reaction. The fight with Jimin had probably worn him out.

"I was so worried about you" as you said that, you lifted your gaze right before the door could close completely.

You saw Jimin on his knees, his head lowered and his chest visibly going up and down because of the deep breaths. You only saw him for less than two seconds, but it seemed like an eternity when you noticed his whole body trembling and blood covering his chest. The wound you had previously healed, still not knowing how, was open again: seeing it bleeding made you flinch, because you could only imagine how much it was hurting him. He was not tied to the ceiling by those silver laces anymore, that was the only positive thing about all of that horrific situation.

"I'm okay, I'm okay" your dad patted his hand on your back, trying to calm you down. "Things just got out of hand and..." he suddenly stopped talking, and slowly pushed you away with a questioning expression on his face.

You looked at him, just as confused as he was, with your heart beating fast. "What?" You asked, hoping he wasn't suspecting anything. Sometimes you wondered to which extent his powers could go - was he able to read people's minds as well?
