After a few moments in which you face palmed for wanting a proper physical contact with Jimin, even in that stressful situation, and you realised he just promised to keep Lexi safe, you turned to go back upstairs.
And your mother was standing there, at the top of the stairs, eyes widened and mouth slightly open. She was probably thinking what the hell just happened and why you were able to talk to the demon in your basement. Rightfully.
Fuck. That was the only thing on your mind at the moment. You couldn't even come up with a good excuse, but it would've been useless. So, you slowly made your way up, trying to delay the inevitable discussion as much as possible. No matter how many ways there were of telling her what was going on, none of them seemed decent enough to explain why you were talking to a devil.
You had actually never realised how messed up all of that was. A human, kind of, being connected by some type of magic to a devil caged in a basement, and, on top of that, being ridiculously attracted to him. "Hi, mum."
She didn't smile, nor did she look like she was going to be the understanding parent she had always been. "What happened down there?" The seriousness in her voice caused goosebumps all over your skin.
"I can explain." Such a lame answer.
"You must. Seeing my daughter have a conversation with herself isn't something I expected to see any time soon."
You frowned. "Huh?"
"Y/n, don't act dumb. I just saw the way you spoke as if there was someone there. How did this happen?"
Did she not see Jimin?
"Or do you have earphones on?" She moved your hair behind your ears to check. "You don't. Then... who were you talking to? Who is Jimin?"
Should I tell her?
No, no way I'm telling her.
"It's one of the names I've given to the fairies." Why am I not telling her now that I have the chance to?!
She wasn't buying it. "And who caught who?"
How am I going to get out of this? You sighed, closing your eyes for a moment because you couldn't come up with a lie at the moment. "Mum..." you started, abandoning the idea of lying again, because now that you didn't answer immediately, she was going to know you were lying.
"Did you get in trouble?" She asked softly, and you were both still standing in front of the basement door.
You nodded. "A very big one. I have a lot to tell you, mum, but I need to know that you're not going to be angry at me. Most importantly, though, I want you to promise me you won't tell dad."
Your mother's expression turned from calmly confused, to anxiously confused. She looked worried. "What did you do, y/n?"
You took a look back, to make sure that your father wasn't coming upstairs, and then closed the door. "Come with me" you grabbed her wrist and brought her into your room as quickly as possible. It's not like you were so eager to tell her the mess you got yourself into, but you needed her help to help Lexi. As soon as possible.
"Honey, you need to speak. I can't stand the suspense, and I'm worried. Are you in danger?" She put a hand on her chest, her eyes wide open. If you hadn't have spoken in the next few seconds, she would've probably had a heart attack.
You both sat on the bed, and you took the deepest breath before telling her everything that happened. From the first day when Jimin arrived at your place, to the last moment when he stopped you from looking for Lexi in the basement. It took you a while, probably half an hour, but you avoided telling her about Jungkook.
